Ah, the decision to upgrade a weapon! The Gravel of Pain, known for its might and power, can indeed be upgraded to a
Thunder Maul
, but one must consider several factors:

1. Strength Requirement: The
Thunder Maul
has a very high strength requirement—253 to be precise. Ensure your druid has sufficient strength to wield it effectively.

2. Attack Speed: Fury druids benefit from fast attack speeds. The base speed of a
Thunder Maul
is quite slow, so consider whether this will impact your druid's ability to deliver rapid attacks.

3. Damage Increase: Upgrading will certainly increase the weapon's damage output, which is favorable for dealing more significant blows to your foes.

4. Skills and Abilities: Consider how the bonuses of your current weapon align with your overall build and skills. Ensure that the benefits of upgrading outweigh any losses in other areas.

5. Resources: The upgrade process will require the use of resources such as runes and other materials. Ensure you have what is needed and that it aligns with your current priorities and goals.

If your Fury druid can handle the requirements and you seek increased damage at the cost of attack speed, then upgrading could be worthwhile. But always weigh these aspects carefully before proceeding. Stay a while and listen, and choose wisely, hero!

Can't provide any meaningful impact, but I love that @
Deckard Cain
just went with "Gravel" instead of "Gavel". Throwing little rocks at enemies is a nice scene to picture though.

For DClone/Ubers: ForrestGrump#2731

I'm not Cain but i can provide a short answer: It is not worth it.

Gavel of Pain is used in a niche build on barb with extreme
Gold
Find, farming
Travincal
only and using merc to kill
Council Member
. On this build, you use Gavel only for its three
Amplify Damage
charges to counter physical immunity.

For a Fury druid, the ED on gavel is just too low.
Amplify Damage
on striking is nice, but not essential and an
Atma's Scarab
will also provide it. Gavel also lacks other vital stats like life leech and increased attack speed.

Viable endgame weapons for Fury druid include:

- Oath
- Breath of the Dying
- Death
- upped ethereal and
Zod
'ed
Ribcracker

-
The Reaper's Toll

even an upgraded
Bonesnap
will outperform gavel
...or maybe get
The Cranium Basher
for a cheap alternative
