Uber Bosses Advice

I went with a +15% all resist & +15 max damage jewel instead of the Um rune to get the resists and some extra damage.

The third person joining us will be a bowazon for crowd control, so I think the minions should not be a problem.

Thank you for answering my question about life/mana leach against these bosses. Yes, we'll have a necro using Life Tap on the bosses and Decrepify against minions, while also buffing us with CTA.

I don't have some of these items ( Verdungo's Hearty Cord, Thundergod's Vigor, Demon Limb). I'll probably still go once the three of us are all ready. My String of Ears does give me 12% physical resistance, and the amazon has an act 3 fire merc that casts Enchant. However, if I happen to come across some of these mentioned items before we start I would consider using them.

my Fury druid have this setup:
Metamorphosis (+3fury), highlords, Gore Rider, Eth Decapitator Death, Raven Frost, Laying of Hands, String of Ears, some +str + life leech + all res ring and Hustle
some allres / fhr / life / max dmg / ar charms + Annihilus + druid Hellfire Torch

prebuff with Fade + Enchant, running with Heart of Wolverine, also often use Feral Rage

merc is Frenzy barb with Treachery, Cure , Lawbringer ( Decrepify) and Hustle (lvl 1 fanatism)

ar after buff is around 19k, Uber Mephisto is not a problem due fast leeching, only Uber Baal with his minions are a bit trouble if Baal is not alone

We just finished our first Uber Tristram quest run as a group and I thought I'd post how it went.

First of all, thank you to everyone for your helpful suggestions.

We crushed it. No one died---or even got close to dying.

We had a party of 4: Fury Werewolf (me), Bone necro, bowazon, and a paladin.

The paladin ran salvaion aura while we fought Mephisto first. The Conviction aura was almost completely nullified from his aura. No one in the party had 300% bonus to any resist, so we did fine there.

After killing Mephisto, I accidentally agroed Baal and Diablo at the same time. However, there was no problem. We killed both of them with ease. Necro kept boses life tapped and minions decrepified. Bowazon effortlessly cleared the minions. The paladin switched to Fanaticism after Mephisto was dead, and his merc provided a Conviction aura which reduced their defense, so no Enchant was necessary. My merc had over 50% crushing blow. No ones' mercenary died. And we killed both pretty quickly.

The result: +16 attributes, +18 all resists Barbarian torch.

Do you think, for the glove slot, Laying of Hands would be better, or Blood Gloves with 20% IAS & 10% crushing blow. I have both, but I am not sure which would be preferred. On the one hand, Laying of Hands gives me fire resist and +350% damage to demons, but I also hear crushing blow is important for dealing with ubers.

Suggestions from people who've done the uber bosses with a melee character would be appreciated.

Laying of Hands is probably the better choice for you. You should already have at least 50% crushing blow elsewhere on your gear anyways, 10% more or less shouldn't make or break the difference here.

Blood Gloves or Dracul's are generally superior for a Smiter paladin because the +350% Enhance Dmg to demons does not apply to Smite and because the IAS is almost totally unnecessary if you have level 20 Fanaticism and a Phase Blade base.

I don't know what druid breakpoints are, but the 350% ED to demons would probably benefit you more than the 10% CB. In my experience running Ubers many times, 50% CB is really all you need - more is nice, but don't compromise other defensive and offensive measures and go out of your way for more CB if you have at least that much.

CB also loses alot of effectiveness once your target's health bar gets very low (especially Uber bosses due to their regeneration), because it's based on their REMAINING life, not their base total life. This is why if you've ever done Uber runs with Grief vs Last Wish on a smiter you'll notice that Grief chops down their life bar much quicker once it gets below a certain point.

Congrats ! Side note for your necro buddy: He can also participate actively by reviving Urdars (around 10), which have Crushing Blow. That's how most necros deal with Uber T.

He doesn't have any summons. Just a Bone necro ( Bone Spear and Teeth) with curses.

Actually, he has a Clay Golem. I think he likes that it slows the enemy.

I am a Bone necro myself, but you only need 1 point in Revives and its prereqs - his call anyway
