Something I really enjoyed lately, just walking thru game, killing every monster and exploring all maps was a Blade Sin (using Blade Sentinel, Blade Fury, BS). It was in my unicolor builds experiment so she had some weird gear as well (all black)! However I didn't finish that build yet, so who knows how would it go until the very end (Hell Baal).
Before that, Cold Druid always did and will always have a special place in my heart (using Arctic Blast and Hurricane and a bit of pets); and the most enjoyable, fun and satisfying build in D2R so far was probably Fire Bear (Druid SS) that I have never ever played before but followed not so far behind by a Throw Barb (also never played it before and played Barb very very little in general). Other builds that were also quite fun and interesting to play around with (and figure out the proper gear) and are definitely not meta, were:
Elemental Bowazon (Cold/Fire)
Physical Bowazon (GA/MS)
Auradin (Paladin with max auras and Vengeance)
Cold Ranger (Paladin with Holy Freeze and bow)
Half and half Bone Necro (Bone Spear + all Skelies) Demon Machine Enchantress (Sorc with Enchant and DM)
Ma neeeeeeema veeeeeeeze! xd
Someone much smarter than me already said once: "The real value of something doesn't reflect in a number of how much a seller can ask for it, but on how much a buyer is willing to pay."
No matter how hard I try to get into Hammerdin, I always get annoyed with the playstyle and end up re-specing into Zealer/Smiter pally. Usually max out Zeal, Sacrifice, Holy Shield and Fanaticism and put pretty much the rest into Smite. Doesn't do AoE like a Lightning Sorc or Poison Necro but is super tanky and fun to play, can shred any single target.
Frenzy Barb has also been a favorite of mine for ages, gotta be one of the most versatile and well rounded builds. Not too many other builds that can do Ubers but still farm tons of MF with small adjustments to gear.
Lightning sorc is another one I play frequently but I get annoyed with how squishy sorc builds are. Glass cannon 100%

I wanted to start this topic, but I see there is already an old one.
I started to play few months ago and I choosed a zealot paladin as a reminder of playing diablo 2 approx 20 years ago.
I trained him until lvl 93. High resistances, huge amount of life and fast Zeal attack makes him an invincible killer, even though he is a bit slower than some other builds. Now I use him for fast Travincal runs and to kill dclone and Tristram ubers, but its quite all-purpose build.
Then I choosed a blizzard sorceress and trained her until lvl 91. Now I use her to farm essences / keys and to kill act bosses. With Teleport, she has quick acces to these areas. I enjoy to play this char/build, even though doing runs again and again starts to be boring for me quite soon.
Then I choosed a necro summoner. Tbh, this wasnt my cup of tea. I got to lvl 84 and now I almost dont play with him. I dont know if I choosed a wrong playstyle, but I dont enjoy the way of playing, that I´m just summoning skeletons/creatures and watching the screen how they are killing the monsters. Also, I find him quite slow. Clearing up the areas takes lots of time and killng bosses is incredibly slow.
The next one was Multiple Shot bowazon and I enjoy this build a lot. She can kill bunches of monsters in a second. Even those which I cant see on the screen yet. Her disadvantage is low resistance and only small amount of life, so she is very vulnerable. The ghosts (burning souls) from Worldstone keep are a nightmare for her. Also she is struggling with Baal a bit and no Teleport makes her rely on running only.
Now I started a barbarian. I am on very beginning yet. Still not sure if to choose WW barb or Frenzy barb. Any advices are welcome.
If you're into Zealot paladin, you would probably love Frenzy Barb. Quite abit faster/better mobility with the Frenzy stacks which doesn't use up a shit ton of mana like Charge and also doesnt feel as clunky when navigating levels like Tower Cellar and River of Flame. Not nearly as good against Single targets as Smiter, but what build is?
Can do quite abit better at MFing and sniping elites with 1 point into Howl, Berserk, and Find Item with +skills doing the rest of the work. Basically best build in the biz for doing Trav runs if u ask me.
Almost only thing it wont do as well is Ubers/act bosses, but even then iys just slower and still gets job done reliably and consistently.

I'm currently starting my first druid ever on HCL this season and thats what I'm going for.
Wish I had a PC though, console lobbies are dead af compared to PC and adding HCL filter makes it even more dead lol. Nevertheless still wanna see how far I can grind before the next ladder season comes.

I love FoH and Zealer. Recently had enough leftover Jahs to build a tesladin. Really slow on high player counts but can clear anything and everything. Such fun builds. Hammers are really bad until Enigma imo, I don't like it in ladder.

I finally decided on the Whirlwind barb and it seems like a best build for me so far. He is really fast killer, can clean up a room full of monsters in a second and he moves really fast with Enigma with two HOTOs. I trained him up to lvl 92 and still enjoy it a lot. Just for the ubers I still use the Zeal paladin. Never tried smiter though. I still consider myself as a new player. Didnt try all classes yet, so the two expansion chars (druid and assassin) are still on the list, but WW barb is the best one so far..
Please check my FREE tab. I am always trying to get rid off stuff
It's an absolute powerhouse for farming the highest-density areas right up until the ladder ends. It deals massive Holy Damage, ignores almost all mob defenses, and is incredibly easy to gear. It’s a fast, fun, and highly efficient send-off build.
For a full breakdown on skills and maximizing its efficiency, you can find great resources over <REDACTED UNRELATED LINK>. Have fun!
WW Barb with Grim Ward (read target practice )
Strafezon is cool to play because I like the idea that I take down bosses with a bow
Javazon with light Fury and charched strike. Kinda fire and forget kind of build
Summon necro Gathering army, spamming curses and explode the whole screen. He can take down Nihlathak without even seeing him. And there is nothing like the smell of exploded corpses in the morning... Happy slayin
