It would make sense to separate the server. D2, as it exists today, would not pass chinese laws. They must have made some changes to the game.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind paying a little bit for extra stash pages but obiously not at that rate.

Exactly. Before they fix bugs and issues, there should be no "new version" of this game like this either. But cashing in from the gullible morons and China for example is full of people wasting money into video games. A LOT of them.
At a closer look, for 458 Yuan, you get some kind of "starter pack":
Diablo 2 and LoD, a fully geared hero (Barbarian?), Gold, EXP boost and some runes.
The pure game is at 168 Yuan, that's around 22 USD.
The other pictures seem to showcase the latest changes: New runewords (Mosaic, Flickering Flame, Metamorphosis and Mist), Terror Zones and Sunder Charms as well as some set items (?).
So, let's take a deep breath and hope for the best.

No, don't take a deep breath and hope for the best. This is absolutely disgusting news that they even plan to do something like this. People should be angry. Look at the state of Diablo games recently that have been pushed out. Greed has gone overboard and unfortunately people have been taught to just give money no matter what.
Im "glad" to be poor af and barely have food to eat daily so I could never pay for diablo games ever again.
Imo Activision Blizzard should be left to rotten, they have proven over and over again where they come from.
I remember how people reacted when Activision Blizzard unveiled Diablo Immortal at the Blizzcon while the community was waiting for D4.
I think that event resumes what Blizzard became.
Blizzard North is dead, I don't expect anything good for D2 from that compagny.
Immortal was awful cash grab though and still continues to be. It was funny to watch how they didnt want to make PC version of immortal because they built D4 on top of Immortal. At d4's early steps in closed testing and all that; the game was 100% just like immortal was on PC. It was hilarious how people didnt see or didnt care (which one is worse? most likely not caring)
At that point I already knew its going to be a disaster of a game and it truly was / has been.
