Hello. I'm about to create Fortitude for my Bowazon. I have one Superior Dusk Shroud here and my hesitation it's if I should make it on it, or maybe to search for simple 4os Archon Plate. Any thoughts?
Can be used to make Runewords:

Assume this is for yourself versus mercenary? If mercenary you want an ethereal variant. For yourself I like the base because Dusk Shroud have low requirements to wear. Only 'downside' is repair costs will be higher due to Superior roll.
Agree with @ghostpos about using a non-superior base. Defense doesn't matter that much and a 13% increase isn't enough to justify the annoyance, IMO.
As for which base to use, it depends on your bow.
My bowazon uses a Windforce, which has a high strength requirement (134), enough to wear any light armor (with Archon Plate and Great Hauberk reaching base defense numbers similar to this superior Dusk Shroud). If you're using Faith, you probably want a Grand Matron Bow base, which has a required strength of 108 (enough for an Archon Plate). The remaining factor is aesthetics: whether you prefer the looks of a Dusk Shroud, Archon Plate, Great Hauberk, or whatever.
So, if I could take my pick (and ignoring aesthetic preferences), I'd use a non-superior Archon Plate with a decent defense value.

Personally have never really cared about the 1-15% ED, sure it increases def but like it was said above already; not enough to matter and def is quite useless anyway. Resists matter more.
Merc = ethereal is best
yourself = what ever you feel like is ok. Mostly about the strength requirement id say. You want to spend a lot of strength or not? doesnt really matter in the endgame that much as your stats will be higher anyway. The armor you have is not really a bad one, I would make it into that if its for my own use.

About the "fear" of repair cost on superior armors, bowzon do not take many hits, and you can always save 1-2 Ral to use Recipe: Fully Repaired Armor when its durability is too low
OP
First of all, thanks everyone for the quick answers and detailed information!
The Fortitude will be for my Bowazone not for Merc. I'm about to use Feith, I have build it already actually.
I'll go with my Dusk Shroud. I love the fact that I have found it and I don't see actual disadvantage VS the Archon Plate.
Thanks once again for the help!

Hi, I dont recommend Dusk Shroud. Because of durability. It is really annoying to repair it quite often. Also I done see any reason to go for superior for 528defense if AP can go up to 524 and AP no os or 4os are not that expensive.Razkolnikov wrote: 4 months agoFirst of all, thanks everyone for the quick answers and detailed information!

On bowa I do recommend check those IAS and keep them on best frames.
Regarding Windforce on paper its best bow, but it has many buts. The big one is in reality your merc would be either dead or not within range to give you Faith. (if u used Windforce as temp solution till u get Faith, then ignore this note:) )
Back to armor it doesnt matter which base, I just like esthetics from AP. It has highest str req, but also highest durability.
As bowa you should be positioned well and keep distance from enemies. So you shouldnt be even hit.

The visual appearance is more important than the armour value of the base. For so much of the game def doesn't matter so better to be happy with how your character looks. Bonus if it is a self farmed base.

Don't go Archon Plate but Mage Plate.
Archon Plate is only usefull for melee char.
Dusk Shroud is more naked look but Mage Plate is more full armored.

But is quite difficult to get 4 OS in a Mage PlateTornado_OLO wrote: 4 months agoDon't go Archon Plate but Mage Plate.

Agree, my bad lol

I'm willing to accept other forms of currency. Like Tokens, Keys, Perfect Gems, and certain minor runes in lieu of my asking price. I'm also willing to accept rune combinations that add up to my asking price.
Barb is ok "with" Dusk Shroud but please don't do this with a nec !

Best looking Char wearing a Dusk Shroud is undoubtedly the Druid

IMO, the inconvenience of repair costs/having to use a Ral is way worse than losing 10-20 defense points (or even 100), even on a bowazon.fredkid wrote: 4 months agoAbout the "fear" of repair cost on superior armors, bowzon do not take many hits, and you can always save 1-2 Ral to use Recipe: Fully Repaired Armor when its durability is too low![]()
It will work for a Bowazon because there won't be many repairs, or to the point, maybe one every few weeks or even months of play. I generally prefer to use Archon plates. The strength requirement for an Archon is likely to be less than that of another item you're using. For instance a Grand Matron Bow 108 st (best Faith base), and Windforce 134 st.
It will work for everyone. I built one for melee fighter, superior Dusk Shroud. You only need to pick armor or magic stick 1x2 when you play. Your money( Gold) will still exceed what you can store. I even sell some Gold to others.
Repair cost around 600k every 20 close range melee fight.
Mage Plate lost to normal Dusk Shroud. Even lowest one.
ed.
The down side is that you cant use Spirit that build in rings to increase your hp. With that, you cant maintain positive Gold flow.

Favor Perfect Amethyst over Perfect Skull...
These days, I don't need that much Perfect Skull, it is less encourage to pay in Perfect Skull but it will treat slightly better than Perfect Gems.

Is this true for weapons, too? I never really noticed any difference when repairing. What's the cost difference between a normal and sup item when repairing?
**all trades are negotiable unless otherwise stated**
Superior and skill staff mods (in case of scepters, staffs, wands, orbs, necro heads)

most people are use pb, it is 0 cost. if you use Grief super- Berserk Axe , you will see your Gold come into void so quick.washnugget wrote: 4 months agoIs this true for weapons, too? For elite-sup-weapon, you will need to pay 200k+ for repair, it is very big number. vs normal 20k
Other case, like druid botd, weapon is no need repair. assassin, caster claw doesnt need repair. mat, Phoenix, maybe, I havent play that yet.
paladin doesnt use Scepter to hit.
There is one scenario, Archon Staff , but I forget how exact you need to repair.
