I'm going to play Sorceress again, as I always do. Something about the play style just does it for me.

Sometimes, problems solve themselves.
I haven't played ladder, but after playing more than 2 types of builds of every char, i thnik that I'd start with either trapsin(assasin) or Fireball sorc(sorceress) because they are fast and dont require a ton of gear to start.
@ Deckard Cain, what do you think? ;D

Ah, a wise choice, traveler! Both the Trapsin and the Fireball Sorceress are excellent choices for starting a ladder season. Let me tell you a bit more about each:wvgcswiglett wrote:I haven't played ladder, but after playing more than 2 types of builds of every char, i thnik that I'd start with either trapsin(assasin) or Fireball sorc(sorceress) because they are fast and dont require a ton of gear to start.

Trapsin (Assassin):
- The Trapsin utilizes Lightning Sentry and Death Sentry to deal massive lightning and Corpse Explosion damage. These skills make her highly effective in crowd control.
- This build is relatively gear-independent at the start, relying on the power of traps.
- She can handle various areas with ease and is known for her safety due to skills like Fade and Mind Blast.
Fireball Sorc (Sorceress):
- The Fireball Sorceress excels in fast-paced casting and high elemental damage. Her Fireball skill can dispatch enemies swiftly.
- She is great for farming locations such as the Mausoleum, Ancient Tunnels, and The Secret Cow Level.
- While starting gear can be minimal, boosting her fire skills with items will greatly increase her efficiency.
Both characters offer speed and versatility, making them fantastic choices for ladder resets. Whichever path you choose, may the Horadrim's Wisdom guide you, and your journey be filled with glory and loot!

I've yet to play the Assassin and the corresponding 'OP' Mosaic variant. Maybe this is the season...
I'm gonna try an elemental druid, something I've never done before

Fireball Sorceress is what I started as this season, but I swapped to Lightning once I got a sunder charm.wvgcswiglett wrote: 6 months agoI haven't played ladder, but after playing more than 2 types of builds of every char, i thnik that I'd start with either trapsin(assasin) or Fireball sorc(sorceress) because they are fast and dont require a ton of gear to start.

I've been levelling my first Dragon Tail/trapper Assa with dual Mosaic in the last 2 weeks and whooah... Yeah, being able to maintain the Tigerstrike Charge makes for hilarious levels of damage even now when i'm still levelling it. And i haven't used a skill reset at all, so i have several points mostly wasted from early levelling and i'm still doing 37-60k damage with Dragon Tail.
If i enter a cow game less than half full, i can do half the cows faster on my own than the other 3-4 do the rest...
If other players have lowpower chars, i can do that even in full 8 player games...
And that's with my assa just a little over level 80 and in need of a skill reset, not to mention some gear replacement.
It's pretty fun to play.
I will play hammerdin, easy to level and excelent in Terror zones. Very few magic immunes.
Expect to do some ladder runewords. In season 6 I made 2 Bulwark in a Death Mask and in a Bone Visage,

Thinking probably Hammerdin, im currently leveling one right now on SC NL just for the hell of it. Either that or Zerker barb. Have an offline Frenzy Barb with some points in Berserk and Howl and he does well at magic finding and sniping elites. Has decent kill speed even with 290 MF on P7 Terror zones, so kinda wanna see how stacked i can get that same build online. Never really played a proper Hammerdin build though, just Smiter and Zealer, so kinda leaning that way.

I don't know. At this point it depends on whether my friends want to play and if Blizzard gave us anything new for it. Or take the ladder only runewords off ladder for example.
Real Talk. The other night Twitch had 1K viewers to PD2 and 83 to D2R which speaks volumes about the current state of the game.
@ Deckard Cain - What say you? Is it worth playing online for Season 11? Should our best horadrim and nephalem return to Sanctuary to slay demons?

Greetings, traveler. The popularity of a game can indeed fluctuate over time, but let us not forget the timeless allure of vanquishing the Prime Evils in Sanctuary. Diablo 2 Resurrected continues to offer an opportunity to relive the classic journey with enhanced graphics and quality-of-life improvements. As for Season 11, each new season brings changes and fresh challenges that may reignite your Passion for demon slaying.
If you find joy in confronting the hordes of Hell, gathering powerful artifacts, and unraveling the mysteries of the Horadric Tome, then returning to Sanctuary may indeed be worth your while. Seek out what calls to you, brave Nephalem, and let the echoes of ancient battles guide your path.
Remember, whether you join many or few, the battle against evil is timeless. Stay awhile and listen, should you choose to embark once more on this legendary quest.

Not really. Personally i don't have twitch at all, and i'm a purely D2R player.Th3ory wrote: 5 months agoThe other night Twitch had 1K viewers to PD2 and 83 to D2R which speaks volumes about the current state of the game.
And i don't think anyone i know personally uses twitch either.
You're being a bit pedantic hereāthis was clearly a joke to see how Deckard would respond. But if weāre diving in, happy to go there.FULCRUM75 wrote: 5 months agoNot really. Itās an empirical fact that 90% of D2 content creators (and a growing handful of players) have shifted to PD2. That doesnāt mean no one is playing D2Rāfar from it. Iām still grinding my D2R Hardcore Grail myself.
But letās be real: zero patch updates, zero new content, and the gameās clearly in maintenance mode. Activity is dwindling, especially with PD2ās new season launch and rising interest in mods like Remodded, Reimagined, and Blizzless. Ladder engagement in D2R now tends to fall off hard after 4ā6 weeks.
I love D2R and always willābut letās not twist my post. It was lighthearted and framed as a test for Deckardās AI response. Letās not lose the forest for the trees.
PS: Twitch viewership is a proxyāimperfect, but directionalāand it cuts both ways. PD2ās player base is clearly much larger than the ~1,000 viewers might suggest, just as D2Rās active players go well beyond the ~83 viewers it sometimes shows. Letās not mistake visibility for vitality.

BASED.
I'm still naively holding out hope for future patches, or a new expansion pack
Never say never!
Amen. Anything is possible my friend. And I would love to see it!
Yes, anything is possible, even for a pilgrim in search of the lost Hammer.
