Description

I've been playing for around 6 months, I have some good gear that was gifted to me by veterans or traded alway, like Beast, cta, soj, hoto. I play mostly with summoner necro, I have basically all the gear a casual player can hope to find, I just dropped a Lo rune, my first ever high rune, and now I don't know if I should make Fortitude or keep it to try and trade for Enigma.
Can you guys give me some tips about new and casual players?

Can be used to make Runewords:

Lo is approximately half a Jah, and an Enigma needs both a Jah and a Ber, which are both more expensive than a Lo.

Fortitude is great, but not sure what it would really do for you. Merc damage nice to maximize, but i think is generally WAY over valued by d2 players. It's more of a "i've done everything else on this char, time to maximize the merc"

I would try to hold that Lo, maybe farm enough to get another 4-5 ists worth of runes, and see if you can try to trade that up to a Jah. Some people will even trade extra Enigma's straight up for a Jah. I've traded Jah for Enigma straight up twice.

Currently playing SSF Offline only
95 Javazon - 94 fire ball sorc - 91 Frenzy barb
91 Dragon Tail assassin - 87 hammerdin - 95 fire warlock - 84 Fury druid
Offline milestones achieved: Enigma, Phoenix, Grief, Fortitude, Obsession, Infinity, Death

nice to know it's possible to trade Enigma straight up, I'll try and trade that Lo in a while, have 2 ists and 1 Um already

it's certainly not easy, but i have had luck with it in the past. my recommendation would be to try and get 2 more ists , and you should be able to trade 4 Ist and Lo for a Jah. Then try to trade that Jah for an Enigma.

Fortitude is not the best choice on (summ) nec as it tends to shatter corpses more often than u think

Another common usecase for Lo is Grief. Reasoning:
  • If you're lucky, you gamble some high dmg/ias and are able to sell for Enigma
  • If you're not lucky, Grief is the cornerstone of a Travincal zerker (rest of the stuff is rather budget, if you substitute Chains of Honor for something like Smoke or Stone) Doing travruns may be kind of redundant but also way more rewarding itemwise than "normal" play

Post ur offer before adding me. No PM. Only add me if u offer bin/lf. No reply after 3 days=offer rejected
No socketing service. If u get item otherwise, retract ur pending offer. Edit ur post or post "retracted" to do so.

Summoner is probably one of the slowest characters in the game. It was my starting character as well. Poison necro is a blast, but it really benefits from dweb and Enigma which are both expensive.

If I were you I'd make a sorc. Tal's set is a good starting point for sorcs. Self-wield Infinity Nova is where it's at.

If you just want to blow up the game it's time for Mosaic. That's ladder only last time I checked, but it doesn't take too long to make a few Mosaic Claws.

Enigma is a must to be effective on a nec. That should be your first priority.

It is the best option for a summoner merc, since you need as much dmg as possible on him. Even if he very rarely shatters a corpse (for real, it's much less frequent than having direct cold dmg on the merc. Chilling Armor only shoots back a cold projectile for ranged attacks. It can be a problem for a GF barb -because of all the hydras in Travincal-, but its not really bothering for a summoner), it still worths it.

summoner is one of the fastest chars solo (max AMP and CE).

Both of you are right 😛😛
Pure summoner is very slow 😓😓
And Summoner with Corpse Explosion is a fast cleaner 🙂🙂... but... you don't feel as a Undead overlord anymore 😓😓

CE is nice. But it's still painful to wait for the first drop.

It might be comparable to some of the other builds at P1. At P7 it's practically not viable. Poison Nova is way faster. And obviously Javazon, Mosaicsin, Wind druid, Nova sorc, blizz sorc, and hammerdin are all faster. So that's every class (except barb) plus one necro build.

Not sure about WW barb. Singer barb is probably slower than summoner with CE.

Bonemancer with CE and amp is nice and fast too.

My timezone is CET/UTC+1.

Since Enigma has little variation it's resell value is rather stable. But some people make it in suboptimal bases which lowers the value and can be bought cheaper (read: at around Jah).

I agree with everyone above: Focus on Enigma, it's close and best. It's also very good on almost every other char. You might want to play another char soon.

But to drop another option: Bramble, ideally on the Merc, for Thorns aura, is a good alternative to Fortitude for summoners.

Playing HC SSF right now.

Hell completed: Sorc, Druid, Paladin, Ama, Assa, Necro, Barb
Iron Man (Paladin): Nightmare A1

Necromancer, especially if summoner, Enigma is a must. You need to have it.

I mostly play on P1, only now and then I try to join some public games. And as someone that plays at most 5-6h a week, sometimes even less, I really don't mind being slow. The char is fun af to play.

I started leveling a sorc, but played only act I, then I started an amazon on latter with a friend that's comming back to the game. Both seems a lot of fun to play. I managed to trade a full Tal's to the sorc and was planning to build something to use the full set, but last weekend I dropped a Demon Machine and now I'm having second thought lol

A really good tip is push for at least 100% magic find as quickly as you can.

It makes a significant difference in drops.

Sometimes, problems solve themselves.
7
Also a new player about 6 months in. Got my first batch of high runes getting lucky and rolling and selling a near perf Grief, but if you don't mind trading it's viable to do Key runs, especially Key of Destruction, and sell them for a good profit. 18 Key of Destruction sells for about a Jah last I checked, and although it may take long it is incredibly consistent if you can clear it.

I've been using a little less then that, didn't have this info before. my current gear has aroud 130%, but I can push it up without compromising too much clear speed.
I just lost my Beast Axe, that was a gift from a random veteran, because I was dumb AF, so I should have a little trouble on cleaning some TZ with troublesome mobs, but nothing that I can't deal.
By the way, this is my current gear https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/nz2vc04f
