Ohm,

Vex,

Jah, and

Ber ALL drop in

Nihlathak's halls.

Only other spot i've ever seen a high rune drop is

Baal waves, found an

Ohm and

Zod there once in p8.

That spawn point is also really good to kill DClone with a ranged character, since you can easily lock him in one of the "islands" on the

Flayer Jungle side. That's how I've always killed him on my bowazon.

Once, a long time ago and I think it was on single player, I got a

Jah in

Spider Cavern. Weird.

I found a 4 LL BK ring in

Lower Kurast. Same with a

Sur rune. The 2nd BK ring, also 4 LL, dropped from TZ

Mephisto.

I am going to ask (again) a silly question here; in

Lower Kurast those chests you open, should I be having my magic find swap in use when I open the chests or are those chests completely random and magic find matters not? or are those chests best to open with least amount of magic find in order to get the highest chance of runes?

Drops from LK SUPERchests are completely independent on your MF. They have fixed patterns (that means the items in each drop are always the same for each Pattern) and pull them randomly.

In LOD, the drops for the 6

Lower Kurast Super Chests weren’t as random as the drops from monsters. There were 65536 drop patterns and whenever a super chest is opened, one of the 65536 patterns was rolled.

They are not affected by MF. They are affected by player count and your so called "seed". You can edit your seed offline but not online.

Finally got me a high rune from the Council itself rather than their entourage. It may be a modest

Cham, but I'm still at the stage where seeing any high rune is reward enough, not to mention this is my very first

Cham. Now I just need a

Jah to be able to say I've found them all. Also, later at night I decided to visit

Travincal again and dropped by the terrorized Durance just to say hello only to find my first ethereal

Tomb Reaver.

To be honest. It still takes a lot (!) of Travical runs to get some good loot. I do it mainly for the

Gold and from to time it's getting really boring. Such "bonus drops" lit the grind-fire up again

Pindleskin and grinding level for my MF Sorc, when this grand charm dropped from one of his minions.

The lightning skill GC dropped from

Nihlathak. The

Gul dropped in

Lower Kurast.

Ok so, small recap.

Been hitting LK offline hard for the past few months. Not as hard as I'd like but hard, nonetheless. Mostly on the weekends.

Luck doesn't even begin to cover it. I started by finding a

Ber way back in February (you can actually track down the post in this thread) and about 8 days ago, I found my last

Sur 5 minutes into just another LK run !

Next up, let's see how long it will take to make a Grief and an Infinity, will NOT be going back to LK for a while

Farming Terrorized

Mephisto on P7 only for about 30-40 min last nite with my

Frenzy/zerker barb, 290 MF.
Just maybe 5 or 6 runs, taking my time to hork and

Gold find off all the elite groups/council members in Durance 3, not really target farming anything in particular.

Within that time frame found

Kira's Guardian (with a decent +60 all res)

Tal Rasha's Guardianship, and first ever

Bone Break with an 11% roll - previously i had been searching hard for that mofo. And now just need

Tal's amulet to complete the set too.

Plus a bunch of other decent uniques, had

Skullder's Ire, Vile Husk and couple other good ones in there. Well over 2.5M

Gold in that time too.
Kinda makes up for the times when farming for keys and going 40ish runs without 1 damn

Just reminded me that the

Bone Break i mentioned in my previous post, I horked that off one of the council members in Durance 3.

I only bother horking champions and uniques usually, but council members are always worth horking imo even if only for the extra

Gold/loot. Even the magical/blue quality stuff they drop seems to frequently be worth good $$.
