Can be used to make Runewords:
My understanding is that Larzuk will punch 6 holes into this. What RW would typically leverage this rolled base? Last Wish?
Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash, my crafts and my many cheap Annihilus

If you have Ist runes coming out of your ears, you can also put 6 Ist runes in it and use it on swap on a Hork Barb. Not at all uncommon actually, from what I hear.

Only possiblility to put sockets is in Larzuk, cannot put sockets in cube. And it will get 6 sockets. Or make a Last Wish or put 6 ists for a pitzerker.
Much less wasteful to use a Gull Dagger or an Alibaba. Grief is the better option unless you’re super rich and just wanna flex. Last Wish is cool on paper, but kinda overkill in most cases.

Grief is 5 sockets, so not possible in this case. Can't you just copy the save files before doing your rw then doing a rollback by restoring them and try again ?
Never played offline in D2R but that was possible in LoD.
