Description

Hey y’all! I finally found a unique Corona after a bunch of normal, socketed and even the set version dropping for weeks. Whoot Terror zones!

It rolled amazing as well, 2 sockets, 28 all res and 14 damage reduction. Sadly I’m offline, so this won’t be going towards a pvp build…

So what’s the best use for it? Or everyone’s recommendations?

2 Perfect Topaz gems for extra MF (or two Ist runes but it's more expensive) or 2 perfect Facet jewels for - minus to resistances.

The only one I saw was from a very rich PvP player. He put BerBer for maximal damage reduction.

Can do trades on D2R or D2RotW

The BiS helmet for Dragon paladin. Put 2x 5/5 fire facet in. Flickering Flame is useless compared to faceted CoA.

FoHdin can make great use of it, Griffon's Eye is cool and all, but CoA works perfectly fine too.

Would also choose it for poison javelineer, and again, with facets.

It's an option for 2x15ias jewels in a Helm. Some physical damage builds or hybrid builds can use this, but it's not usually best in slot for pvm I think. If I ever find one in singleplayer, I will put it on my Death Ettin Axe zealer

Any thoughts on slotting x1 Cham and x1 Ber on a x2 socket Crown of Ages?

I am definitely not an experienced player, but, to me, it seems that this is its absolutely best use, for a HC melee character. Its stats provide some defenses already, and these two runes provide even more, while also freeing up a slot of mandatory CBF equipment.

I really wish I had all of these, the helmet, the runes, everything.

🥲

HC is scary.

Prefer 2/20 Circlet with 1-2 sockets for FoHdin personally. +skills is huge for Holy Bolts.

On topic, possibly Um+ Ber for CoA? Or 2xPTopaz like someone said for extra MF?

Nice find, congrats! I've been dreaming about finding one myself for days now, after dropping two Griswold's Valor Corona... 😒

On topic: the Ber+ Cham or Ber+ Ber options sound great, if expensive or even prohibitive for Single Player... Personally I wouldn't go the MF way (PTopaz/ Ist). Perhaps 2 Um Rune for even higher resistances?... it depends obviously on the characters you play! Anyway enjoy!

EDIT: geez, old old topic! 😅

You put it on your character's head and enjoy that he dies less often.

It's much easier to get elemental resistances than physical resist, so if you can afford it, socket Ber instead of Um. If you are melee and do not have any other source of "cannot be frozen", then socketing a Cham is a no-brainer.

i have a Crown of Ages for my firedin/dragondin. I personally think its better than using Flickering Flame. two 5/5 jewels in there.

Are you running a sunder charm with your setup? On my offline dragondin I use Flickering Flame for both the -enemy fire resist and to counter the sunder negative resist on self. I could move the Flickering Flame to my merc, but then I need to find the CoA and facets.

Trades are LOD by default, but I can also trade on ROTW.

I'm currently using a 2 socketed CoA with 2 × Um runes on my Dragondin. Total +60 all resist. This allows me to use more elemental damage small charms for more damage output paired with sunder charm and Conviction.

I am using Flickering Flame for the looks and the 95% fire resist. Really nice to be almost immune to fire.

In terms of damage and overall stats, facetted CoA is better.

For low items I also accept: Perfect Amys, Ral, Hel, Tokens, Keys. Please don't offer runes lower than Pul (with the named exceptions).

Must disagree (at least in Softcore). Imho, Jeweler's Tiara/ Diadem of Speed, socketed with 3x 5/5 Fire Rainbow Facet is way better. Let's look at CoA's stats:

Defense: 349-399
Useful, but not that much of a difference concerning chance of not getting hit

+1 To All Skills
Damage from Dragon won't scale with +Skills, so maybe better Battle Orders and less hard points in Conviction, but that's all

Damage Reduced By 10-15%
With the rest being high-end gear, you'll be around 3-3.5k HP anyway so chances to get killed are allready quiet low.

All Resistances +20-30
The most useful stat here, as the rest of your gear hasn't got that much res. But you can compensate with Shimmering Small charms of Inertia (5@R/3frw)

+30% Faster Hit Recovery
Second useful stat, but look above concerning dmg reduce by %. Enemies allready die in 2-3 hits by the aura on /p1, so stunlock isn't an issue. And if you want to play /p8, dragondin is far away from rocking anyhow

I think using CoA, you Sacrifice two stats that are hard to get anywhere else just for some def, res and fhr:
  • Faster Run/Walk, which is a QoL improvement and 30% is significant
  • 5% Fire Damage / -5% enemy fire res which increases your damage output and makes some mob die in 2 instead of 3 hit by the aura
I tried some helms by myself, CoA with RBF was one of them and i regret socketing the two jewels on it. Fortunately, i found a happy buyer for it

Don't get me wrong: CoA is a great item for a Dragondin, but i doubt its BiS

Sidenote:
Why is frw so important on Dragon paladin?
  • It's scaling is linear up to a point of 300% (which you won't reach).
  • You don't use Enigma and even if you got a dreamlike Blood Amulet with Teleport Charges, you will be running around or Charging most of the time
  • Charge gets faster by frw, not by skill level. And you need it for getting from a to b, not for its damage
I even replaced String of Ears with M'avina's Tenet and i don't want to go back

Post ur offer before adding me. No PM. Only add me if u offer bin/lf. No reply after 3 days=offer rejected
No socketing service. If u get item otherwise, retract ur pending offer. Edit ur post or post "retracted" to do so.

ya some nice 3 socket diadems would be superior, but in terms of COA vs FLICKER i think COA is a better choice.

I am using a fire sunder yes. even with a fire sunder all my resistance are all above 60% +. i dont have any problems with resistance.

Flickering Flame is nice for -15% enemy fire res but with a COA and two 5/5 facets you get -10 enemy fire res and +10 fire dmg which is overall closer to 20% its slightly better for overall damage/AOE.

it really just comes down to your personal preference. there is nothing wrong with Flickering Flame but if you are trying to get max DPS i believe COA with two 5/5 facets is better, not to mention the other stats such as +1 to all skills and big resistance the Helm provides.

The Crown of Ages, recently , I use this to anti trav mobs. Its physical 15 + 2 Ber can help to anti Amplify Damage. This still help a little, to complete overcome cursed scenario, Shaftstop+ Lo/ Vex is needed.

My current setup only use Crown of Ages, heavily rely on all resist and physical resist. (amplify situation only ease, cant solve it, stuck behind wall cant leech case solve)
All resistance 25 is needed...

Some Trade is available for both rotw and LoD, Most rune , Perfect Gems is only in LoD side.
I will busy at us Stock market open time. 9:30 a.m. ET
