Description

When trying to make rune trades, or any bulk trades wherein we're trading multiples of an item (ex. 20
Io
runes for 1x
Ist
), there's no good way to show the multiples in the title and it's hard to search for it.

The trade-end interface does provide a multiplier but this isn't part of the initial trade post, maybe we can extend the trade-end interface to also apply to trade creation so we can use multipliers for items?

btw, thanks for all the work, please let me know if my feedback makes sense or if I need to clarify further.

What I do id cases like yours I search for both trades and look at the descriptions on the resulting list (there are not too many if you filter for WTB/WTS, Ladder/non-Ladder, Hardcore/Softcore, and platform)

Ex:
I want to sell 20
Io
for 1
Ist
on non-Ladder, Softcore, PC.
So I search

WTB
Io
: none :-(
search.php?keywords=Io&fid%5B%5D=16&ter ... mit=Search

WTS
Ist
: 6 (but no one wants
Io
or low runes... :-( )
search.php?keywords=Ist&fid%5B%5D=16&te ... mit=Search

As I found o match ... I would create two trades:
- WTS
Io
| 20
Io
for 1
Ist

- WTB
Ist
| Offer 20
Io

For a while: not accepting
Ral
or
Hel
; and considering
Perfect Skull
as a regular
Perfect Gems
on my trades.

About change the site, I think it falls on the same category of another thread were somebody wanted a field to specify what he wants for his item (instead of using only a textual description):
It can make the create of a trade and the search way more complex...

And as the extra fields would always be optional, many players would not full fill them, and so you would still have to search ignoring those fields if you want to look at all relevant trades... :-(

Nowadays many users already create trade without using the meta-data and flags that already exist (like create a trade for a Unique item without flag it as unique - and this is done automatically by the search suggestion...), so even if those extra fields existed, you would still need to search without them to not miss a possible trade...

For a while: not accepting
Ral
or
Hel
; and considering
Perfect Skull
as a regular
Perfect Gems
on my trades.

I see your point, completely valid, if it becomes a long metadata checklist then most people would still just ignore it.

It's a shame because without an API to get this information automatically from d2 it makes it the only other option.

Other trading sites do have that model (a million drop-downs and categories to fill in), maybe it could be useful as an opt-in?

There's no good middle Ground between ease of use and full-fledged definition of all details so I see the conundrum.

Thanks for taking the time to respond though :)

@UndeadFish adding a quantity field to trade creation has been requested by others too - makes total sense - it's on my to do list for next sprint.

Closed source. Besides, you'd cry after seeing my codebase lol.
