Description

Hi friends,

I have a hardcore Lv96 Druid. He's got 88 points in fire skills (8 in Fissure, 20 in the other four) and the rest in summoning to run interference while I hurl molten boulders and let Armageddon Rain down. He's pretty well decked out in high end gear. When I'm properly BO'd and ready to engage, I run around with ~5400 HP. My merc has Infinity, Fortitude, and Andarial's visage.

I successfully obtained Diablo's Horn, Baal's Eye, and Mephisto's Brain. The only thing that took down any of my pets or came close to taking my merc down was, as you can guess Lilith.

So do you think he can do ubers? I've only done a couple successful uber runs with a Paladin last year and I killed him while doing so. I think he was level 92.

I was kinda thinking "eh, it's just some keys, I'll just go in and try it out." but now I'm getting cold feet. XD

Would love any pointers, ideas, or testimonials! thanks fam.

I don't play Hardcore, yet. I've beaten Ubers on Softcore at level 94 with my Druid but he's on the Wind side ( Tornado and Hurricane - physical and cold damage). I don't know how the other side is doing (the Fire side). I have a Hydra, Meteor and Fireball Sorc that is good at killing Ubers, so fire should be powerful enough.
I Don't know what your gear is but a Flickering Flame would be good to further lower the monster's fire resist. Or a Phoenix shield.

For my Wind Druid damage (physical) The Reaper's Toll is better but for fire Infinity is good.
For my build I switched the Act 2 merc to an Act 5 Frenzy Barb and put a Malice and Lawbringer on his hands to have OW and Decrepify to stop their life regen and to have Decrepify. You could take the Infinity yourself and go with the A5 Frenzy Barb but the you'll lose the shield, so I don't know how is better.

I was able to take them down but took some time. The Druid seems to be the slowest and weakest from all my characters so far. Again, I don't know how the fire branch is working but probably could do it. For my Sorc, the Meteor stops the life regen of Ubers. Probably the same here.

Be prepared with Full Rejuvs to heal yourself and merc and be sure to have some resist, especially for Lightning. Aim for 300 LR for maximum safety but you could be fine with less.

Thanks for the advice. Do you use Oak Sage? Have you found it useless due to just constant aoe Death?

Hey,

I don't know about hardcore, but I did it in softcore.

I use Fissure as AOE and Firestorm for Bosses/Ubers (maxed out the synergies, but not Armageddon), Molten Boulder and Volcano as secondary ( Armageddon at any time, because why not using it ^^). 1 point in Grizzly, maxed out Oak Sage (just so I can do Ubers, but I think in Harcore you'd max it out anyway). I summon as many wolves as I can (I think they die pretty fast against ubers, but you can re-summon them...), and the Grizzly.

I got a Phoenix Shield, Ravenlore and a 6xFire Facet Crystal Sword (but I think a Hoto is ok, or maybe a Phoenix sword ?), a Fire Sunder for Diablo, T-God/Verdungo, Mara, Dwarf Star, CTA, skillers...
Maybe you could use a Wand of Lower Resist...

I use Chains of Honor + prebuff from Treachery for resistances.

My merc has Infinity, Flickering Flame (to counter the Sunder charm), and a Chains of Honor too (maybe Fade from Treachery would do).

Again, I don't know about Hardcore, maybe using Firestorm is too dangerous and you'll prefer a safer approach... but I have doubts about Molten Boulder to kill Ubers...

Good Luck :)

Yes, I use the maxed Oak Sage everytime. He often dies but when he's alive is very usefull.
Plain life is aroun 1500 HP but with Oak Sage buffed with CtA it goes up to about 5500 HP. When I see him dying I recast him.
