Description

Sigon's Guard is probably the most popular shield for early game. The +1 to all Skills mod is useful on all characters and the Sigon's Complete Steel set gives pretty good stats overall for the normal difficulty. High strength requirement is a significant drawback, though.

This shield is also often used as a really cheap alternative for the +1 to all Skills on switch for casting
Battle Orders with Call To Arms on switch until you get a
Lidless Wall, Splendor or ultimately Spirit shield.

Before the Lord of Destruction expansion introduced runewords and exceptional/elite unique items,
Wall of the Eyeless and
Sigon's Guard were the best offhand items for casters.
