Something I've been pondering. What are some common, or your own, Superstitions in Diablo 2 ??
I'm not a very superstitious person but for fun I like to think of some
For example and what's lead to this Topic, I like to think that when identifying gear..
how long it takes and weather you or cain does it adds variables and different outcomes
Even tho I understand once an item drops it's predetermined. I just like to think this
Another one I have is when you desire something more then anything else
The game will never let you have it, but instead toys with you by showing items closely to what you want
Lastly, and am sure this one many would feel the same
Once you finally get something, you start getting it over and over and over after that
Those are some of mine, what are yours?!

I have a few... The first one that comes to mind is when I farm torches, and walk up to Cain to identify the torch, I make sure to move so I walk up to him in the direction he is currently facing.
I hope that by making him work less (by not moving directions) he'll reward me with a better torch

I have several:
1) I always take EVERY rune that drops. In my head, if you don't, the game will stop droping runes at all.
2) When I identify torches, i do with my eyes closed, then i move my cursor away and then sloooooowwwly go towards the torch. So this suspense increases the stats of the torch.
3) There is an old one (that i condone lol) that you should drop some gold to that angel near River of Flame waypoint, or else the game won't drop anything good at all.

This item (2) i use everywhere, actually. Playing poker or sueca (a brazilian card game) you should only open one card at a time, really slowly, so you can get the best cards.
I use Deckard to identify my stuff when in town, typically Annis. Would probably save time to pay scrolls instead
Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash, my crafts and my many cheap Annihilus
4) when farming, you should always start from the right side and go to the left, so you'll get lucky (specially Cow Level and Arcane Sanctuary)
5) Always drop stuff on free servers, so you keep your karma positive lol

The longer you don't log into D2, the better your drops will be once you do.
If you want a class-specific item(s) don't play/farm with that class. You are more likely to find class-specific items if you are playing with any other class than that. I swear that's how D2 works! xd
Other one would probably be: "Try not to aim farm for a specific thing, otherwise you will never find it." In other words if you really that one thing it's sometimes better to chill out and just play the game or grind some other stuff and eventually that one thing you are looking for is gonna drop naturally (aka don't waste all your energy trying to find 1 item).

Someone much smarter than me already said once: "The real value of something doesn't reflect in a number of how much a seller can ask for it, but on how much a buyer is willing to pay."
My personal favorite superstition that I joke about on streams...
Yes, I have a fun belief, that some of the servers have different server-side drop rates so is RnG totally random, or is it simply luck of the draw?
One day you have a massive heater...
The next, ice cold...
Well the answer is quite simple...you weren't on the RnG special server.
Are You On the RnG Server

That sounds like the opposite to making Cain work less, as coming to him *from* the direction he's currently facing might satisfy your rationale.azeroti wrote: 7 months ago I have a few... We all should pay our tributes to the Drop Angel.
I was a blackjack dealer at a couple different casinos for over a decade... The most important thing I learned is that it is bad luck to be superstitious. That being said, I only gamble from Elzix in A2 because he's the only one I trust.
Hardcore mode is my jam. Played a lot of D1. Played D2 from its release till about 2010, then lots of D3 for most of the 2010's. 29 year Magic: the Gathering player. 12 year League of Legends player.
I've only every had one SoJ drop for me. Something about the drop made me think "that was a SoJ that just dropped. I have also had an analogous feeling with two Raven Frost rings.
My conclusion: with rings, you can somehow tell when a big drop happens.

Of everyone, you trust Elzix, the former raider?Karn Liberated wrote: 7 months ago I was a blackjack dealer at a couple different casinos for over a decade... That definitely means something, i'm moving my gambles to him just to get a feel.
Thank you, Drop Angel!!
When I get too many decent drops or good rolls in a row I begin to think that Blizzard is going to throw a switch to end my streak of luck.
Please post offer in item trade before adding me on Bnet, I'm in EST time zone (E Coast U.S)
