I finally managed to quit after...oh, I don't know...5k rolls? Felt like 50k+ but that's probably some sort of "tortured perception bias". Just couldn't take it anymore.

5k rolls? Five thousand?! Jeez dude, I get bored after like 10 rolls. And that is A LOT of Hel runes. In today's market, 7 Hel go for an Ist. 5000 / 7 = ~714 Ist runes worth of Hel runes. That is too much, lol.
Well, it was a fair bit cheaper back when I started doing it. Thankfully.
Plus I got lucky and found a few brilliant folks here who started just chain-farming full reroll sets to sell to me. Win/Win.
Honestly don't know how many rerolls it really was in total. Never kept track. Could've been 3k. 5k. 10k. 4k. Either way..it was a ton.
Hopefully over the course of years and not a marathon reroll session.

Main chunk over the course of probably around 2-3 months. Picked it up again at some later point but never beat the results of the first few months.

I’ve run trav as a horker 10’s of thousands of times. I’ve found probably about 50 +hrs running trav. Even rarer, I’ve gotten 4 runes in a single trav run around 5 times, but tonight, I popped out 5 runes in a single trav run, all keepers: Tal, Ort, Sol, Hel and Mal.
Now just need 2 hrs in one trav run and I can finally hang ‘‘em up.

And yea, amulet is +3 Warcries / 35% MF.
Helm is magic quality with +3 Warcries / +3 Find Item and 2 sockets (Cham + Ist).
So, for the actual act of horking, what is better; MF weapons like alibaba or 6 Ist crystal swords, or weapons that give plus to item find like double HOTO or double Heart Carver?

Thats a real good question. i go Trav with 6x Ist PB when terrorized and Isted Heart Carvers if not. Have to add that +3 WC Wpn with 2 Ist is also an option and maybe the best allround solution

In my opinion, it depends partially on what you're looking for vs what skill levels you have baseline.
At Find Item level 20, you have a 51% chance of a successful hork, or 71% with max Find Potion. Going up to skill level 28 (eg, adding 2 Heart Carver) brings it up to 54% base, 74% with synergies. That's only a 3% increase.
At Find Item level 5, you have a 32% success chance, going up to 52% with max Find Potion. Increasing to skill level 13 with Heart Carver brings your chance to 46% base or 66% with synergy. That's an increase of 20%!
So, if your build allows you to run high skill point investment into Find Item, I'd say the Heart Carver isn't giving you much bang for your buck compared to MF options. Unless all you want is runes, of course. If your build doesn't allow for many points into Find Item, it becomes a very different calculation.

I have a zerker geared for Gold find (I love to gamble). He has lvl 29 item find and potion find with BO which gives 74% chance to hork an item. Swapping to two Heart Carver gives him lvl 37 item find and potion find at a 76% chance to find something. Double Lem ali baba it continues to be lol.
But I should have been phrased my original question differently: does MF affect horked drops?

Very impressive numbers! I’m guessing that is a +3 item find Delirium and + 3 blue warcry ammy…. I realize now I am actually an amateur horker lol.

I’ve been running trav for about a year and did the majority of my runs in the first half of 2023. I was struggling with insomnia, perhaps induced by my d2r addiction and ran trav many hours every day for many months. Now I’m more casual and think I’ve only got about 4 high runes from trav this season which probably means I’ve only put in a couple thousand runs (“casual” ) thus far but maybe more as I’ve felt I’ve been a little bit unlucky on the high runes this season.

For my Chaos & cow runs, I go with 2x HOTO for the added 80% FCR, since I'll be horking giant packs. Could theoretically just focus hork the champions/elites and not do giant packs, but the temptation to hork every body is too great for myself, so I need that FCR in some areas.
Vs Trav I'll switch to 2x 6 Isted PBs to get my MF up around 900% on hork. Don't really need the FCR for Trav, since only about a dozen monsters.
And I would recommend trying to get up to 77% Find Item chance (38 Find Item + 20 Find Potion). Any lower and I start to notice quite a few misses. (But that could just be me.)
These are the best gloves I've ever gotten on imbue. I got it with a level 43 Druid, and it would be eventually used by currently a 42 level javazon, unless I find something better.
So I got a Perfect 20/20 Assassin Hellfire Torch and sold for what seems a "low" price of 10 jahs. Then I checked the price again and realized it could worth double. So I thoght, ok im 20 times richier anyways. Then I farmed 3 keys I needed to one more torch. Guess what? THE SAME PERFECT ROLL , what are the odds?? HOLY COW
Rolled 400ed Death in 15ed ethereal Decapitator yesterday on the 10th try.
As a karma compensation am somewhere on 40+ rolls to get a single HotO 40. Saw all other numbers multiple times. Puts the 3-4 Jah price per 40@ HotO into perspective.
