Let’s face it, if you want to farm efficiently you go for Nova sorc, hammerdin, javazon, or any of the other “S” tier builds. But what if you want to actually have fun playing the game?
Do you play a Skeleton Mage & fire golemn necro? A Sanctuary paladin? A Spirit of Barbs Druid? Or a more conventional build but it uses some strange unique item?
What’s your favorite off-meta/niche build?

Can be used to make Runewords:

Is Demon Machine sorceress still considered off-meta, after the latest bugfix (indirect buff)?
Natalya Trapsin with Chaos to WW !
And I am bulding a Disciple-set based Hybrid Java/Bowazon
Who cares about the meta ? ^^

Doom rune word, it gives a massive negative cold res. You combine it with Cold Rapture and Cold Mastery and your Blizzard sorc seriously goes sub zero! It is my fav offensive rune word at this moment!
Personally I'd consider Fireball+ Meteor the off-meta build these days. Demon Machine just melts anything faster than a Meteor comes down at (almost) the speed of casting fireballs.Trang Oul wrote: 1 year ago Is Demon Machine sorceress still considered off-meta, after the latest bugfix (indirect buff)?
Hitting with such firebolt deals X damage, + another X per explosion, times number of pierced enemies, all in an AoE. A single X can already be higher than what Fireball would deal.
If you get a PM offer, post it in the trade. Promote healthy competition instead of settling for less.

All trades can be accomplished via PC or xbox. All reasonable offers will be considered and probably accepted.
I still really enjoy Shock Wave druid, despite the nerf. It'd be cool to theorycraft a build called procwave or something, like a procsin but using Shock Wave for survivability.
All prices negotiable. BIN always wins. Americas (Pacific), but int'l trade times can be arranged.
My Favorite Despite the Wind Up has been my Blade assassin:

You do have to practise sweeping motions for Blade Fury once the animation is stable. (I hope they fix that) It is a surprisingly efficient boss killer though. Not S tier but for creative strategy and planning its alot of fun.

What am I doing with this build?
- Huge damage to dense groups of monsters. (Cows farm 8ppl for example)
- Helping beginners level up their characters.
- Quick rush to the Larzuk's Socket Quest.
- Biggest buff (Fire + Attack Rating) for melee characters in party.
Good day to you partner!

i played some time with wearbear sorc, I still keep all stuff for this build.
OP
I’m on a bit of a barb kick right now, trying to optimize a dual Colossus Blade ebotd Frenzy barb.
Just need to gain one more level so my merc has enough strength to wear the efort…
After that i think im gunna try an elemental throwing barb
I consider using a barb with no item find niche!

Main/very important note:
Every single character is made on Online Mode, so with most of them I couldn't really test Players X as I wanted to. I started playing Online from the first day of D2R, never played it before (played exclusively offline on legacy D2). I'm also not a grinder and not really a professional trader (and I don't like playing on ladder -- played on 2 of them so far plus I joined them at very late stages), so it takes a lots of time for me to acquire stuff on my own or via trades/giveaways/friend donations etc.
Enjoy (and apologize in advance for huge post)!

He lives like a furry -- he looks like a wolf, he talks like a wolf, he even smells like a wolf... But he is actually a BARB in wolf's skin!
Just something I've been 'cooking' lately. As someone who recently started with SS builds in general, I must admit they can be quite interesting!

Mama, this bear is on fiiireee...even on P8! Hehe
He uses Fire Claws as main skill and Maul: Skill as secondary. Every area is a joke to clear, I never really focus on max clearing/moving speed but he kills almost everything in one hit except bosses and some super uniques which take about 3-8 hits (if I calculated correctly, didn't really pay THAT much attention) depending on procs/cb/TZ/modifiers etc.
Note: Was playing mostly on P1, didn't have any problems and because most enemies fall down extremely quickly I didn't find necessity for any cc addition (like Armageddon for example). Then I joined random P8 lobby and ran around a bit thru couple of areas, did full solo Baal waves and also cleared a TZ (can't remember which one was) still rocking pretty solid -- normal monsters still fall in <5 hits and others still can't do much (if any) harm it just takes a bit longer to kill each one separately while keeping/achieving max Maul: Skill charges.
I still need to make Phoenix, lvl him up a bit and swap out those nasty SCs.
Used Boneweave just for the looks even tho he is almost always shifted (yes, I am a moron). Also head pelt is the one I got from that giveaway so that's why that base (still I'm decently happy with it)...

DIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDER
Then we have an Ultimate Auradin, he is father of all Auradins not just put random stuff to get max auras and see-what-happens; or in other words I tried to min/max him as much as I could and yet maintain that original plan/idea of him having maximum different auras (or as much as theoretically possible). Yes, some sacrifices had to be done to achieve that sparkling aura effect when they all combine beneath your feet (even tho it makes him a bit less dangerous, he just looks awesome)! He is very fun to play on P1 (did try max P3 but didn't see any significant difference), a true complete menace I would have to say.
Idea for this build (this was at the time I didn't even know about "builds" in general, that there are meta builds, hybrids, off-meta etc.) was born on the very 1st day of D2R yet I had to create a new character recently to see how he feels at current state (it's fabulous).
Current state (prone to minor changes):

How does he look (had to put this in):
DIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDERDIVIDER
And at the end (I'll post some hybrid builds in a new post when I put them all neatly on maxroll), we have my favorite build of all times, something I tried to make in some old legacy version but couldn't find all the appropriate items/runes for it and it just ended being a complete incomplete mess. Even tho I don't play that often or that much with other people (even tho it's on online characters) I'm pretty sure I have never seen anyone else play or even try to make something like this -- again, my knowledge is very limited tho.
After many trying and mixing I finally made him viable. Not OP, not fantastic, not "wow", just okay. Sufficient. Enough to have a lot of fun playing through Normal and Nightmare and then able to finish the entire game (aka on Hell).
He is definitely far from finished (a lot can be improved but that would cost a buuuuunch of time but since the Auradin is [mostly] finished this one will always remain my favorite project so who knows)...
It is... *drum roll* A COLD Druid with pets!!
I'm a bit lazy and didn't put him on maxroll so I'll edit this post with his link at some later time.

Someone much smarter than me already said once: "The real value of something doesn't reflect in a number of how much a seller can ask for it, but on how much a buyer is willing to pay."
My "For Fun" build would have the be my supportadin. It's not going to kill anything on its own, but keeps everyone else safe and helps them kill faster, mainly used in Baal or Chaos runs to help the lower level players live.
