Hey all!

I'm checking some builds with my pally dragondin these days, just so i can spice him up. Just saw a video from The Iceman where he built a Dual Dragon + HoJ + Flickering Flame and, alongside 20
Resist Fire
+ 20
Salvation
, he spent 20 points in Resist Shock + 20 points in
Holy Shock
. The remaining skill points are distributed in one-point combat skills wonders such as
Zeal
and
Holy Shield
. So he walks around Zealing monsters and using
Holy Shock
as the aura, hitting hard in a huge area with 44
Holy Fire
and 20~ish
Holy Shock
.

This is the video if anyone wants to check it out:

Now that build hit me and got me thinking.

I'm using a dragondin with the same gear as his, but i'm using 20
Fist of the Heavens
and 20
Holy Bolt
to deal with fire immunes and/or crowded demon and undead areas, and I use the
Conviction
aura as my aura of choice. So i walk around dealing fire damage with 44
Holy Fire
and hitting demons and undeads with FoH, Zealing only monsters that come close enough so i can melee them.

What do you think? This
Holy Fire
and
Holy Shock
combination would be a nice build to try out? I would need to buy a token to try out this build, and probably a second one if the build sucks, so i want to think this thoroughly.

And one more thing: the + fire damage that Holy Fires adds to melee would stack with
Holy Shock
's, or one would replace the other?

Thanks and looking forward to check on your thoughts.

That build has:
44
Holy Fire

-15 Enemy Fire Resistance from Flickering Flame
20~ish
Holy Shock

-85 Resistances

Traditional auradin has:
30
Holy Fire

30
Holy Shock

-150 Resistances

I don't think that build deal more damage than auradin.
Also, the quality of life isn't great. You can see that he has to use
Teleport
staff on swap to reposition his merc and so no CTA.

Relax and have fun!

IMO The main appeal of auradin is it's ability to "afk farm", as in not actually afk but kinda run around in circles while not paying attention, watching tv or something while everything dies around you. The need to deal with positioning your merc for
Conviction
kinda defeats that purpose

Would not suggest, you really need to have
Conviction
on yourself to be effective with that build. Also, I’ve read that BiS Helmet would be a CoA with 2x -5/5 (or -5/3 if on budget)Fire facet, because the Flickering Flame’s 3 to Fire Skills does not stack with the double Dragon + HoJ auras. The minus 15 Fire Res does work. But with CoA you get All Res and % Phys Dmg reduction. Just my opinion thou
