So how's your MF boost weekend going?

I have a 400MF hydraorb sorc which got boosted to 450 and I've found nothing of any value and i feel like the rng gods are trolling as I've had multiple Chaos/

Baal runs where I've only gotten magic item drops.

Anyone actually having good luck?

According to this, your 400 to 450

Leap effectively yields you a 2.7% greater change to find uniques. Not a great bump to uniques while also increasing your odds of seeing blues since it's a linear relationship with magic find increase. The good news is that you're likely to find more charms! Maybe that 3/20/20 or Lightning/Combat lifer? GL!

I found an

Eth's

Andariel's Visage and an

Arachnid Mesh today. Sitting in the 350% MF range right now. Haven't played for more than two or so hours, so i guess you can say it's going pretty well!

Nothing good yet here either.. 650% MF doing Trav mostly. Got a few hours left tonight though and will let you know if my luck changes!

EDIT: Best I got was an

Eth Gladiator's Bane from Swampy Pits. Will try again tomorrow. Looks like it'll be rainy outside anyways.

I don't use any magic find and today I found a

Highlord's Wrath a near perfect

Crown of Thieves, and a

Lightsabre

Phase Blade.

Got a 31 Life/+1 Warcries Skiller for my Barb. That's about all. Running 391 MF + 50% bonus, and 600+ on swap when horking. Many Trav runs.

additional magic find won't yield more charm drops, it will only increase the likelihood of grand charms rolling unique (i.e.

Gheed's Fortune).

Found my 3rd (ever) Stone of Jordan on NM Andy runs last night. 531 on swap with

Gull and Rhyme shield. I've really not been that lucky otherwise.

in my opinion the optimal mf is around 200 ... after that, you have greater and greater chance to get rares and magic items imo, instead of uniques and set....

they should make this buff optional... if people don't want it, they don't take it

I've found some dest keys, so I'd say you're just unlucky...

You're not losing uniques with more mf. The game rolls for uniques first and then the rest. If you're finding more magic, rare, set etc it's because those would have been White. Good thing! It's true that the 50% bonus past 200 is more or less useless, but every bit helps! Keep playing and enjoy the free buff.

No idea where/who COS or Niki are/is.

But this weekend shouldn't be much better than usual, anyway. If you're normally running 250% magic find, which is 125% unique find, you'll now be running 300% mf, which is 136% unique find. So, you'd be finding 2.36/2.25 = 1.0489 = 4.89% more uniques. So, instead of getting 20 uniques, you'll be getting 21 uniques. The difference will not be statistically significant for any sampling sizes that any human could possibly endure for four days straight.
