Hel is quite useful and is not the worst rune to get in the low ones. Sazabi with the Barb merc is not that bad. Venom Ward is... well, meh. For a Countess run it's not that bad. Not great, of course, but not terrible.

Just tried to cube sockets into my 5th whiteMonarch since ladder start. 4 times (including this one): 1 socket. 1 time: 3 sockets.
Not sure what the odds of that are, but pretty bad.
For a Monarch, using the cube recipe, odds are 50% for a 4 open sockets
Unless it drop as a lower quality Monarch and was upgraded using the recipe*, then you can only have a maximum of 3 open sockets 67% of the time (because ilvl will be downgraded to 1)
* El + Any chipped gem + Any low quality piece of armor = Normal quality piece of armor of same type
i think i've got a 4 socket Monarch sitting around on one of my characters if you want it.
That's thoughtful, I appreciate it, but I play too much to take a freebie. Better to gift it to someone newer to the game. If I didn't want to be begrudged, I'd just rush a normal socket quest. At this point it's more of the Principle. But thanks though.
