Why did the SOJ price go up?

Supply and demand? Did you check the sales history?

simple reason is a streamer/discord group is about to organise another D Clone event (you need to be the owner of two SOJ's before you're invited to this elitist group)

there's still no proper answer from the developers regarding D Clone spawning for patch 2.4.

if you believe that the devs are working on something before 2.4 goes live, then save your runes.

It isn't elitist, it's math. I can't speak to the other stuff they might do on the stream that makes them seem elitist maybe they are douchey that way, couldn't say.
