Off from my machine at the moment so I cannot check myself, but does using Mirrored Blades while equipping a thrown weapon cause a melee Mirrored Blades or a ranged Mirrored Blades?

Tested with a Simbilan. Mirrored Blades just stabs a lot. I was thinking of a thrown weapon + Ars Dul'Mephistos + a bunch of Pierce chance + Hex: Purge. Well, there goes that.
I imagine it's the same with thrown knives and axes.
