Inferior (cracked, crude, damaged, low quality) items - which are worth picking up?

Inferior items (cracked, crude, damaged, low quality) can be turned into normal versions with

Recipe: Normal Quality Armor of Same Type or

Recipe: Normal Quality Weapon of Same Type. However their item level is then set to 1 so the number of sockets is limited. In some cases this can actually be an advantage but in most it makes no sense because the number of possible sockets is too low or the staff mods / auto mods that can still roll are not worth it.
In addition to those two recipes there is also the imbue quest (

Tools of the Trade) for which the item quality doesn't matter. Giving

Charsi a low quality or a superior item is the same as giving her a normal item. This is my personal and rather short list of inferior items I pick up. Please feel free to let me know if I've overlooked any valuable items.

Tools of the Trade
For a +2 skills

Circlet:

Tiara (the char should be 73 before using it) and

Diadem (any clvl is fine).

Circlet and

Coronet are also possible but require a higher char level and I usually find enough tiaras and diadems.

Recipe: Normal Quality Armor of Same Type
For a 3 socket armor:

Mage Plate as well as

Dusk Shroud,

Wyrmhide,

Scarab Husk,

Wire Fleece,

Great Hauberk and

Archon Plate (I don't use medium or heavy armors on my chars, so only the light elite armors are in the list)
For a 3 socket paladin shield:

Zakarum Shield and

Vortex Shield (these are the only two with a high enough qlvl to still get 35-45 to all res)

Only

Phase Blade since phase blades are never ethereal anyway and a 3 socket

Phase Blade has some use cases.

Throwing weapons have a fixed sell cost regardless of quality and wands/staves/scepters can be worth a lot of

Gold for A1 Normal, but otherwise, I never even bother picking up inferior items.
