Not to mention one of the messages is word-for-word identical to the spam that Morder07 received.

I did a bit of poking around Google and found that this Discord channel has been spammed across other places as well. Unsurprisingly, Reddit has banned the spammer, ClassicZon.

A team member checked the Discord, it invites to download a file (false mp3 actually exe)

--> Edit : seems the fake download is not related to that server, sorry for the false information, I did read too quickly some internal mod talks.

Anyway, don't follow the link and keep reporting.

Is there a way to see which users are already banned? Looks like the only difference is that the message button is missing on banned users profile.

You have the mention "this user has been banned" in their profile.

Besides they cannot pm or post any more so they should be less annoying.

And for this spam "campaign " I write down all banned in this topic for the record.

Btw, when you report, please report once per spammer, not once per message received please.

I ban the user from at least two or three reports from different sources, so multiple reports from one user on one spammer just gives me more closing work

Just for the sake of transparency (and since it is being picked up in the newer spam):
That is indeed a false claim. The discord was checked out, the mp3 thing is unrelated.

Not because Nec is trying to lie to people but because he seems to have simply misinterpreted something in our mod discussions surrounding this topic. Said fake mp3 did come up for valid reasons but wasn't actually directly related to that discord. It merely followed very shortly thereafter in the chat.


(This is not me endorsing said spammed discord by any means, far from it, merely correcting that single claim)

Aye, non-mods don't see that part.

I talked to this admin and some of his mods on Discord. In the same breath they denied using automated spam but also confirmed that they are incentivising users to 'recruit' with this method.

I didn't find any links to download .exe, I think that is a case of 'heard it on the grapevine'. Always be wary of clicking any unsolicited URLs you see.

It's a normal D2 server as far as I can tell - just has an admin that encourages his members to practise antisocial recruitment methods like the one some of you are experiencing here.

I'm going to lock this thread now, if you receive any more spam messages just hit the report button like usual.
