Description

Im curious here what sword would people choose. Im running a dual wielder barb and one of em has to go. The upgraded
Zweihander
edges out on damage, and the open wounds is nice! But then kings grace has this nice 100% to deamons... And unsure if the magic damage is fully counted on the kings grace.
I found a Hearth carver to replace one of em for now. Still running around late Normal, but going to nightmare now.
Maybe there is a smart thing to socket into the
Zweihander
for more damage or other uses.

Edit. I just found the Hearth carver repair cost.... Yikes!!! But still wanna hear what people think of these 2 basic swords.

Heart Carver
😉

% ed vs demons / undead is additive with other % ed damage (like %ed on non-weapon items)
So the increase in your final damage is not very high...
In practice your King's Grace just adds
~ +48 per swing x demons (100% of weapon average base damage - (26+70) / 2)
and
~ +24 per swing x undead (50% of weapon average base damage - (26+70) / 2 / 2)
to your final damage....

People normally ignore % ed vs demons / undead when choosing between two items (the only item with those affix that is BIS for some builds that comes to my minds is
Laying of Hands
🤔)

I think King's Grace is a better choice. It has a lower damage but it comes with some bonuses and more important, life stolen per hit which is a good thing.

Ripsaw
faster
7
to imagine that a barb would dual wield one
Heart Carver
and one
Ripsaw
is too much for me.

one sticks out, and one tucks in 🫥

so I would keep King's Grace as it is in a
Dimensional Blade
base. Still not great, but 🫠

Non-Ladder, Softcore. You may trade with me with any

Hel
or Gem combination by rates below.

Yeah
Heart Carver
is a great early-mid game weapon--great find. Between the other two, King's Grace is probably better overall, because attack rating can be really limiting for early melee characters

To me, the life leech of kings grace is the decider. Makes life so much simpler.
7
As soon as you got the runes and bases for it, i would go Unbending Will and/or, with a proper
Eth
base, Oath

Both are very cost-efficient (Runes farmable after an hour of Hell Countess)
A budget option for the off-hand is Lawbringer, as the
Sanctuary Aura
affects lots of monsters in the game and
Decrepify
on striking makes bossfights trivial

Post ur offer before adding me. No PM. Only add me if u offer bin/lf. No reply after 3 days=offer rejected
No socketing service. If u get item otherwise, retract ur pending offer. Edit ur post or post "retracted" to do so.

out of those 2, King's Grace

Good point.
If i socket the
Ripsaw
with a
Shael
rune wil only that weapon get faster or both? Unsure if I should make it faster or life leach.
looking at this and wondering what I should enter on "secondary wias" an "ias" tabs:
https://warren1001.github.io/IAS_Calculator/

Also is the always slow weapon in off hand still a thing?
7
IAS, +damage, % damage, elemental damage and any "on strike"/"on attack" effect (including life/mana steal, deadly strike, crushing blow and open wounds) on a weapon, only affect when you swing with that weapon.
(On other equipment affect when you swing with both weapons)

Yes, it will probably be faster, but it depends on whether you have IAS on your other gear

To be honest, I would not waste a socket quest on an item you will only use for a few levels

This field is very confusing for
Frenzy
. You are supposed to enter your on-weapon ias values there, and then it adjusts the breakpoints to tell you how much off-weapon IAS you need. For non-
Frenzy
skills, entering values is just an additive/linear effect. For
Frenzy
it seems like it's non-linear
Also is the always slow weapon in off hand still a thing?
No, dual wielding was "fixed" by blizzard in patch 2.4. So you can't bug your offhand weapon, or use the broken weapon trick, and you can't hit the fastest
Whirlwind
speeds with two-handed weapons anymore, among other changes

This level of detail is only really appropriate for optimizing an endgame build. At level 40ish(?), with a
Flamberge
, it's kind of a moot point

Edit: And to my previous response, it really doesn't matter much if you gain or lose 1 attack speed frame if you aren't hitting anything--attack rating is much more important at this phase of leveling than 5% more damage or 5% more attack speed

for

yes,.
u can test it easily=

Dagger
and
Falchion
, vs.
Falchion
and
Dagger

@krathkor Your screenshot looks like it is from an older version of https://warren1001.github.io/IAS_Calculator/ and no longer correct: It doesn't matter in which hand you have the slower weapon. However if a weapon has ias, you should put that one in your primary hand. This makes a difference for the eias calculation and therefore for the attack speed calculation.
