Description

I was hit with a realization earlier and wanted to ask you guys. According to every data base I've read
Rune Master
rolls with 3-5 sockets. However everyone I've found had 5 sockets, and I've found quite a few. All the ones for sale on this site are also 5 sockets. Has anyone ever seen this
Axe
with 3 or 4 sockets?
5

Can be used to make Runewords:

I've never even SEEN this with less than 5 sockets. I also Google image searched this axe and couldn't find one with less than 5 sockets...lol
Here trade/rune-master-t1271969.html

All trades can be accomplished via PC or xbox. All reasonable offers will be considered and probably accepted.

I think I only caught this once with 5 sockets in like 10 drops. Seems that all the ones with 5 sockets were reserved to you. :P

I will be away for Easter holidays between April 30 and May 5. I will host a giveaway upon my return on May 6.

Mixed trades:
Hel
= 6
Perfect Gems

Perfect Amethyst
= 4
Perfect Gems

Ral
= 2
Perfect Gems

Perfect Skull
= 2
Perfect Gems

Is ethereal 5 os with
Zod
considered ideal or is it better to leverage non-
Eth
with a more useful rune/jewel?

Thank you Queegon for correcting my error filled post!

Being ethereal raises a weapon's base damage by 50% and
Ohm
also does adds its 50% ED to the existing enhanced dmg roll.

Here is the actual math since I have to redeem myself for spreading fake news:
So, the answer depends on what you're using it for. If you're going for max possible ED, then it doesn't really matter since ethereal +
Zod
+ 4 Ohms is the same ED as non-ethereal + 5 Ohms (assuming the initial ED roll is the same)
then ethereal
Zod
+ 4
Ohm
will give you higher damage than non-ethereal and 5
Ohm
. But some GF/MF barbs can put
Lem
or
Ist
in it. FoH paladins can put 5 lite facets. With those last two builds you would not want ethereal.
It's actually a pretty versatile weapon.

I’d also hold out for an
Eth
one because repairing melee weapons takes too long

Doesn't quite work like that, no.

TL;DR Ethereal +
Zod
> Non-ethereal +
Ohm
.

Ethereal raises the base damage of weapon by 50% and I'm sure we can agree that, eg. avg100 damage weapon at 100%ED is worse than avg150 dmg weapon at 50%ED. The ED applies to base damage, multiplying the already multiplied, essentially double-dipping, in case of ethereal weapons.

There's exactly one case where
Zod
is equal to
Ohm
and that's an ethereal weapon with zero ED on it compared to a non-ethereal with precisely 50% ED from one
Ohm
or affix.

That's awesome thanks. And I love that about D2, the answer as usual = "it depends"!
