Description

Hi

I'm needing to add socket to some itens, but don't have a bag of
Ist
to spare... πŸ˜“

So I'm think in just do some speed runs up to Act 5 quest 1 by myself.

What class is the most recommend for this?

Consider that:
- I will delete the character after using the quest,
- I have some itens on mules to help
- At first, I want to do it with no help from other users to level faster

The first options that comes to my minds are:
Nova
Sorceress
Holy Fire
Paladin

(Both are the "initial build" of most of the leveling guides for those classes)
5

Can be used to make Runewords:

Yeah i mean, if you have multiple classes one for at act III w/ orb smashed you could keep pace by swapping off the speed runner after killing council, then make game with meph able to be killed AND orb smashed and then just relogged back onto speedrun class and go straight to meph like you'd used to be able to.
This assumes online.
Same can be done speeding up act II, rush viper and kill summoner then creating a game on another alt with Act 2 staff plunged into the orifus. There might even be a faster way for Act II than this, just the one i use.

So far in a few hours w/o doing even those methods I can get a Fire auradin through to Act 5.
Like 3-4 hours with all my previous gear, mind you this is me just starting and building my collection. Most recent one had a
Raven Claw
and that makes life a lot easier, this is on single player.
Was going to look into low level items with explosive shot charges for earlier game mob packs, either way my most recent one was around 3 hours and the bulk of it was leveling through Act I and II then once I was 15, from a good stony -> trist spawn. I kept it on players 5-7 and walked through almost one shotting most mobs from my aura this continued until around council, where act IV was a bit slower thanks to tankier mobs. I was like 28 I think by the time I got to Chaos thanks to the sheer EXP gained from mobs dropping in every new zone.

I'm sure with a Tele staff (or low level ring/neck/head assuming there is.) Heirloomed down you can speed clear it faster and faster as you tinker with builds. I'm hoping to get it about sub 2 hours without doing crazy speed run stuff but more casual with the odd teleports in areas, since single players limited by various helping sections. For example Dropping a cube on a higher level and skipping halls, or asking for Trav WP and killing council before joining a game to run to durance 2 waypoint, etc, etc.

OP
Do the
Holy Fire
bonus damage apply to the explosive
Arrows
?
(I think I read somewhere that it does... Any +Fire damage....)

If yes, seems like a very good idea :-)

yeah it applies it and it's insane like for 41 points w/o
Salvation
Holy Fire
with
Raven Claw
/
Kuko Shakaku
/
Demon Machine
/
Hellcast
(worst but good for low level w/o
Raven Claw
)
Holy Fire
auradin can even smash NM cows at like 40s the
Pierce
is the breadwinner
Razortail
with
Kuko Shakaku
or better yet
Demon Machine
at 49 and the
Pierce
can double
Exploding Arrow
.
So shooting mob packs melts them or shooting a boss near a wall for instance.

Never thought about the wall πŸ€”, if it
Pierce
the last enemy you will get another explosion πŸ˜€

Yea tl/dr: if you just want to do a quick normal socket quest
Holy Fire
paladin with a few easy to get pieces of gear=~90 mins and done. If you have some extra gear you can do a nightmare run without much extra time - plus nightmare with good gear is the funnest part of the game. And if you wanted to get super ultra hyper efficient (3pm is or less) it’s a sorc - but the gear you need is so rare/expensive it’s not really worth it

I like a
Holy Fire
Paladin with a
Raven Claw
. The explosive
Arrows
give your
Holy Fire
damage an aoe and it doesn't require a successful hit to proc the explosion.
This is just one small example from that post. I'd say Nate had the right idea, especially carrying it into NM Sorc is just too good seeing as you get a forge shot up to
Um
which is nice. I'd disagree on pally not being S tier tho because if you opt out of the 20
Salvation
points you can instead transition into a FoH like build for clearing dense demon areas and
Holy Bolt
for bosses, either way doing NM on the pally would be more wasteful, time wise IMO than just running a fresh one cause i think the time investment to level the pally to like 60 through NM to Chaos is likely more time consuming but idk. Maybe it is only A >.> the more I think about it. So yeah if you want only normal i'd say try
Holy Fire
if you want NM also hard to beat sorc, just sucks to level a sorc to 18 over and over IMO and lastly the fire trapsin which is a lot more relaxed than sorc but still more active than the pally imo.

if you'd like i love the Fire Auradin for fresh ladders and can give you a setup example for fresh to the gear I shoot for. Which is level 12 gear lol and then odd things you might upgrade into like Spirit. I like casual very low effort walkthroughs.

OP
If I want to do the speed run (again, up to ACT 5 Quest 1) with a caster build, but don't want to use a Sorceress (already played a lot with her...)

What's is the best?
- Fire Druid
- Fire Trap Assassin
- Bone Necro
- "Another suggestion"

My bet would be on fire trapsin

Agreed,
Burst of Speed
&
Dragon Flight
make it go pretty quick, fire traps have good synergies too, so it’s efficient skill-point wise
