Description

Yes, I overanalyze and strategize but that's part of the fun for me. It worked out pretty well with the Ubers so hopefully it works up on The Summit.

Here's my build and initial gameplan...

Lvl95
Abyss
/Chains Summoner Hybrid Warlock. 20 hard points in Bind, Mastery,
Abyss
and Chains with few peppered in
Consume
and Entropy and other prereqs.

Prebuffs - Create game with demon skillers to give bind lvl44. Swap into Treachery, proc then switch into Enigma. Buff team with CtA

Merc- A1 with Duress and Mist. She will be swapping between lvl7 Flickering Flame and a +81 All Res Kira's during the fight since going back to town does not reset the bosses.
Resistances with FF - Fire : Immune, Cold : 241%, Lightning : 211%
Resistances with Kira's : Fire : 292%, Cold : 322%, Lightning : 292%

Demon - TZ96 Hephastos (buffed at lvl44 Bind) with Cold and Lightning Immunity and
Holy Freeze
. Will gain Fire Immunity from FF on Merc.
Summoned demon - Defiler for magic bonus

Strategy - Enter the fight with FF on my merc so we all gain fire immunity. Using TP on Enigma, try to isolate and kill
Talic
before my merc eats it, possibly taking my down demon with her. Then, go back to town and put Kira's on the merc and finish the other 2 with hopefully saving
Madawc
for last. Hopefully my merc will position out of harms way and will be able to apply crushing blow + open wounds so I can just choke them out with Miasma while Heph beats on them like a rented mule. I'll use
Life Tap
from Marrow Walk to hopefully keep them alive long enough to kill
Talic
. Then the other 2 should be a little easier since we drop to only needing lightning and cold immunities, although I'm probably severely underestimating their physical attacks.

If this fails miserably, which it probably will, I'll just pop open a portal to the
Furnace of Pain
and/or
Uber Tristram
and grab one of those rainbow devils solely for tanking purposes.

Flame away...

He means his demon.

They heal to full while you're in town if you don't have open wounds or poison on them, fyi. It's like starting all over, so town trips between kills is best.

I also "prebuff the zone" by dropping 50+ full rejuvs on the Ground at critical escape points (sides, corners, NOT next to portal). That way I can restock full rejuvs without going to town.

Also, just remember NOT to kill Madawk right next to the Edge of the map because he'll drop his jewel into the Void.

Great advice. Thanks! How potent are their physical attacks or are they mostly elemental? Also, give me your % of success with this strategy since you've already done it a few times

My issue is I've never soloed because I play ubers specifically with my brother who collects the mats. I soend most of my time pokemon hunting, haha.

We've had unlucky events where we didn't do as well and burned through two stacks of rejuvs, but also lucky ones where we isolate well and knock them out with probably 20 or so full rejuvs spent. I don't have Flickering Flame though, so I mitigate with Rising Sun, but the merc and demon suffer a bit.

I've only had one fail and that was jumping in to help someone else. Couldn't coordinate and barbs were all over the place. Isolation is super helpful if you can't just face tank everything.

I don't think he means his demon.

Sorry, I should have been a little better in my intent. I meant that the merc and demon will have fire immunity or very close to it in the mercs case. My plan is that I won't need 300% since I wont be taking it right to the face

The simple answer is:
You're seriously overthinking it.

Just did a quick run with a cold/light immune Heph (too lazy to keep cycling for fire on top) because I was curious just how well he'd still tank them (haven't bothered with that since the patch). Turns out the -res stuff either just doesn't affect him at all or it at least can't break immunities. He took a grand total of 0 visible damage throughout the entire fight while tanking pretty much everything and still showed as dual-immune when hovered over while the ancient debuffs were still up. Also didn't have freeze on that one so even less defensive qualities actually.

Chains still being what they are, killing the ancient you actually want to kill takes a while as they keep bugging out and doing 0 dmg to him but the other ancients running across just fall over dead in no time. Sadly, that's not in any way exaggerated...tried to kill
Korlic
first, ended up killing
Talic
(in seconds) on accident because he kept crowding the chains that did precious little to
Korlic
. Man I wish they'd finally make that skill actually work correctly..
The hardest part is hence actually to not accidentally kill the one you need to be last before the others so you don't inherently hard-block yourself from getting the right jewel.

Your merc might die but that's about it.
Just make sure that you yourself keep your distance and let Heph do the tanking so
Madawc
's thunderstorm doesn't take you out.

I had no issues with a cursed tri-immune demon (using Flickering Flame). I've never used
Life Tap
or anything like that so i'd imagine it would be even more foolproof

I also wore Flickering Flame myself in the event of my merc dying (kept
Kira's Guardian
on her, she hardly ever died) + the 5% max fire res helps for if u accidentally get hit by a stray
Talic
Tornado
. I would also wear
Hotspur
/
Infernostride
if ur really worried

Re merc survivability i would switch out her Duress for
Guardian Angel
since your miasma will block their healing anyway

Also
Demon Limb
Enchant
prebuff on your demon surely won't hurt

Perfect. Thanks for taking the time to lay it out like that. Based on chains inadvertently killing non-targets, do you think it's better to use
Abyss
, or does
Abyss
not simulate PMH like chains do?

Haha you know my personal schedule only allows for me to allocate a few hours a weekend to attempt these events so that gives me the weekdays to plan lol. You've been a great help
