You're not the only one. Many of these deaths are so dumb, lol. Some peak streamer hubris. Most of them are not even speedrunners, why do they risk so much? Crappy resistances, offensive Teleports, reading chat in risky situations, ignoring dangerous auras etc.
They should start to play a much more difficult game like PoE. With this risk-management they wouldn't last one hour.

Yea,,,D2r is already a very easy game.
(in POE..esp POE2...they'll not last past Geonor. )

Seriously, though: I think this is a leftover of some bad design decisions. Some here might remember in D2 LoD v1.11 those

Iron Maiden curses in Act 4. It would absolutely insta kill any physical build.

Game can be hard without being unfair, but in the end I still find Diablo 2 one of the best ARPGs out there.

I saw it on Discord in The War Room. Previously "Th3ory, now WarTheWise, who plays HC lost his sorceress in a rather dramatic ending. I copied the vieo at 15 fps, and made a GIF. When the video showed up I was surprised to see that WarTheWise's Sorc wasn't included. So I made Screenshot and Shopped his image into it. Somehow I don't think he appreciated as much as I had hoped?
