Will Mosaic stay in Non ladder? I need to decide if I should spend everything I have on a
Gul
right now or wait a bit

Wait, wasn't Mosaic removed with the new patch?

No. It's been disabled for ladder, not removed, and also made available on non-ladder. It will remain disabled on ladder until they are done coming up with the new version.

I'm in CET (Central European Time)
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

You can review previous post, it was done and confirmed.

And I recommend that you only spend tiny in 1 pair of claw. (x2)

Because this is last meal before Death of Mosaic . They will soon redesign it to avoid it take warlock's show.

Please be aware, all my trade is in non ladder d2r. Not warlock.

Do we have any information on what will happen with Mosaic done before the update? Are they gonna stay as is and become more rare than ever and a limited supply, or are they gonna be fixed too?

Blizzard is working on an updated version. We don't know what it will look like. I suspect we'll get news closer to the next ladder reset, but we'll see.

Simply answer is no, we dont know.

Below is most possible result:
They will change exist Mosaic to less
Charge
needed. Unlike current no lose exist
Charge
.
The most possible outcome for existing Mosaic is that it will slightly stronger than trap style. And weaker than warlock.
I think blizzard wants smallest development cost and make warlock as strongest class. Hustle is their first attempt to see if change cause any unexpected thing. That's why I recommend people to play when it still strong and dont spend too much on Mosaic , because its day has come.

Is there a single official source for that whole "it'll change" thing?

After all, the one and only thing making Mosaic as OP as it is is the
Charge
retention.
Without that and even without 100% of that, it is effectively pointless (see the PTR where it was 50% with 2 of them) and would take MA sins right back into obscurity.
In terms of the item itself, there really is no proper middle Ground for "makes them good but not OP", the entire approach ended up very "OP or pointless, no in between".

What would still make far more sense would be to change MA sins themselves by (random example) introducing a limit for total
Charge
count or the like. That'd hardly affect non-Mosaic sins (if at all) as they're limited by design anyways and it'd tone down Mosaic sins noticeably without rendering them pointless. And it wouldn't take a single change to the item.

Either way, per blizz themselves, Mosaic hasn't been disabled "cuz OP and needs reworking" but because it leads to a graphics bug/crash for a fair few folk and it'll remain disabled on ladder until they can fix that.

Here's a source about the reason for it being disabled:
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d2r/t ... led/172344

That post doesn't outright say that it's going to be reworked, that verbiage comes from MrLlamaSc's article on Icy Veins from last week.

Aye but that's again just the graphics bug thing.
I have yet to see anything official with regards to it getting rebalanced in any way.

And even llama's comments, if one were to take his word, can very much be read as a visual redesign.

Fair :)

The only other official comment is back from the Q&A Blizzard held before the release in China - Matthew Cederquist answered one question by very directly stating that it will be reworked (that was over half a year ago);
Blizzard wrote:
As for Mosaic, it’s a Runeword designed specifically for the Assassin, and after its introduction, the top three pages of the ladder are dominated by Assassins, so we’re planning to rebalance Mosaic. The Druid is one of my favorite classes—my top favorite is the Necromancer, followed by the non-Mosaic Assassin. I believe
Armageddon
is already one of the game’s strongest skills, so we won’t be making any changes to it. That said, for balance, we continuously listen to player feedback, make adjustments, and then gather more feedback in a cyclical process. We don’t have new information to share right now, except that we’re working on rebalancing Mosaic, but we’ll keep monitoring balance closely.

That thing mention above is ptr 50% or something similar. And it failed.
From current clue, they want nerf it to 'reasonable' but can use . And we can only guess from its fail result. Knowing it will be stronger than PTR and much weaker than warlock.
Due to design of skills, 3
Charge
to max is current design and unless, they make it stack up more than 3 . Like D3 speed gems. Still....
Either way of rework, current Mosaic is strongest moment, then it should be similar to trap strong level. Maybe stronger than trap like 50%.
Current Mosaic is way way stronger than trap.

All this uncertainty is why I decided to unload my Mosaic stash over the last two months. I definitely didn’t anticipate anything like ROTW, but I couldn’t shake this nagging feeling that they might throw us some new RWs and/or nerf it.

Guess we’ll see what happens over the next few months…

Would it be viewed as a lazy change if they kept it as is and just upped the rune requirements for Mosaic? It always felt like a Runeword that would require higher than a
Gul
.

Burning out in the Burning Hells since 2004.

Yes, that would be a lazy change, since the runeword would not be nerfed. It would take longer to make the runeword, so the ladder racers would have a sloght disadvantage, but getting the runes for a 3-socket runeword is not too hard, especially when you have a group to back you up.

Thanks.
At least that does state as such. :D

Though I remain very curious as to how they'll rebalance Mosaic. Seems like a fairly impossible task, seeing how the thing that makes it broken is also the thing that makes it Mosaic. Create something completely different and call it Mosaic, sure, that's an option but calling that a rebalance would be a stretch. Plus it'd leave existing mosaics in rotation, meaning we get the same problems we had in LOD. Adjusting the sin skills themselves to "block abuse", sure, also an option (plenty of possible approaches for that actually) but that's rebalancing the sin and not Mosaic.

Oh well, time will tell I guess.

Kinda just wish they'd just nuke the damn thing and call it a day.

We've established that it's broken/OP as fük over and over, that's it, end of story. Has anyone else seen Llama's vid where he uses mods to crank the player settings up to some stupid number like 64 and Mosaic is still killing mobs?

Or, here's an idea, rework
Claws
to have 6 sockets and change the runeword for Mosaic to
"JahMalJahSurJahBer", lol.

Just my 2 cents lol.

Oh it went far crazier than that. He went all the way up to /players 2048, and was still able to clear
Chaos Sanctuary
. Mobs had so much life that he had to kick for quite a bit before each pack died, but since they were all frozen solid it wasn't exactly hard, just took forever.

Yeah that's right, just couldnt remember the exact number I just knew it was something ridonkulous.

Take a geared to the
Teeth
Hammerdin or FoH smiter and they don't come anywhere remotely close, and those are the best builds for CS.
