Bane's Garments

Ok I'm trying to make sense of the individual piece bonuses here because what I'm reading on the site is not lining up with what I'm getting in game. For example, it says with 2 set pieces you get +3 Mana after each kill OR 30% Deadly strike, depending on which two set items you are wearing (assuming 1 has to be the weapon). Well, I can only spawn the +3 Mana after each kill regardless of which other item I wear. This is the same with the 2 either/or bonuses on the armor. I can only get one of them to show up with 2 items on. With 3 items on, the all show up. And one last thing, the bonus for the 2 set items on the

Belt only seems to work for me when I wear all 3. I am tired so maybe I'm missing something, or maybe there is more to this? I only tried equipping it on my Barbarian so far (my Warlock doesn't have enough Dex rn).

Since this is a new feature and I don't have the item, I'm just guessing here.

But I would assume that a

Bane's Oathmaker can spawn with this or that. So if you got a maek oathmaker, you will never get CB and vice-versa.

(I always liked the idea of randomized set bonuses even though this will make trading a pain as it makes scamming so easy)

I've tried it with 3 different

Bane's Oathmaker and the result were always +3 maek. I guess it is because i've used the armor along with them (unfortunately I don't have the

Belt to test). Description on this site says:

"

Bane's Oathmaker and

Bane's Wraithskin are unusual in that they obtain additional bonuses based not on the number of additional set pieces equipped, but rather based on which additional set pieces are equipped."

Well, that's not exactly conclusive just yet. But it is strange.

Has anyone personally seen one with Deadly Strike or a screenshot of one with Deadly Strike?

Yes, that sounds like it could be it.

If so, I think this warrants a clarification on the stats instead of just saying "or".

Has anyone tried to pair with the

Belt and see if the weapon gets Deadly Strike?
Or, does anyone have the

Belt and is willing to temporarily lend it to either uuee or justinman114 so they can test it?

Also, this wouldn't be the first set in the game with this behavior, if it's true - there's an old set that has similar behavior:

Civerb's Ward gets different bonuses depending on if you pair it with

Civerb's Cudgel or

Civerb's Icon. Useless trivia, but still.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just read justinman114's post more carefully, and he does write that the Deadly Strike bonus only shows up when he wears all 3 pieces, never when wearing 2, regardless of which one the weapon is paired with.

My bad. I was under the impression that functionality was present based on secondhand information.

We're not 100% sure yet. Can anyone else with the whole set confirm justinman114's observations?

I did not know that about Civerb's! I assume they were trying to do something similar here but messed up?

Behaves like a normal set, the datamined info is all wrong.

Bane's Wraithskin
2 items (any combination) - 25% fhr
3 items (full set) - 25 % fhr + attack rating

Bane's Oathmaker
2 items - 3 MAEK
3 items - 3 MAEK + 30% deadly strike

Bane's Authority
2 items - nothing
3 items - 15 energy
