Can be used to make Runewords:

My hope is that the 2 stash buttons will be dedicated to trading!

That would resolve a lot of frustration, endless clicking when trading thousands of pgms each weak and foremost make it safe to trade with eg. 200
Jah
runes.

Anyone onboard with this wish? :-)

Stackable items would be a wonderful QoL change but they'd make more money leaving items unstackable and selling stash tabs instead.

Other things I've heard on the grapevine - potentially new class, but not in this February release. Balance updates are being whispered about.

This is where I am at. I feel more trepidation than excitement. I don't trust modern Blizzard to not royally mess this up by going the D3 or D4 route. I would rather get nothing than get WoW.
This, at a lower intensity, is what I think as well.

I wonder if the design team nowadays is capable of adding new content to the game that isn't out of sync with the game's character.

I mostly lean towards "No" , even though I thought that the sunder charms were a nice addition, from a "good design perspective" , at least in theory (even if there are claims that it simplified builds, the "nuh-uh" gameplay element is almost never a great way to approach challenges in design, imo. ) .

(Further expanding on the above point, I find the very end game bosses of PoE1 to be tedious and way below the quality of the rest of the game, due to the invulnerability mechanics spam)

(I may be a new d2-r player, but I am definitely not new to gaming, I'm old).

I just hope they don't break the game and drop it down to the disappointing levels of "new Blizzard" and D4 and whatnot.

Realistic guess:
"Give us money for stash tabs!" plus slight wording change to a country EULA or two.

The team that made D2R is long gone (all let go, resigned or folded into the D4 team). It's currently unknown which team is actually making the changes to D2R, if it's some Blizzard Albany (formerly Vicarious Visions, who made D2R) team being allowed to work on D2R again, or if it's an entirely different team with no experience with working with D2/D2R.

The voices in my head say they created a tool where you can migrate your characters to Diablo 4 with equivalent strength items. They once said they wanted a level after Hell, and here it is, lol.

I am among the few that also play D4 and enjoy it. They tend to do quite interesting changes on it, these days - I don't like everything, but overall it goes into a good direction, I think. More balance, various builds, itemization is decent, less and less bugs... well, it took long enough to be there, and D4 is definitely different than D2, but it's not bad in itself - it's just the comparison that is to be avoided.

As the guy presents himself as the lead for all Diablo legacy, if he also works on D4, my belief is that it's probably not too bad a thing. Hopefully. :)

B.

- tabs (purchasable)
- char slots (purchasable)
- MTX store to finance the game for more content
(while ensuring no pay to win, and for cosmetic reasons)

- nerf OP
- WASD movement

but knowing this is NewBlizzard.....i don't have high hopes. D4 new class will take centrestage and the D4 Hatred xpack is what pays the bills keeps the lights on.

Expect trade delays due to new update on POE2 starting 29 Aug

I mean I get where you’re coming from guys. I’m relatively new to this remaster - came back to d2 last year- but I can definetely see how blizzard handles this game. Most of you are on PC only (I’m both PC and Xbox) so you don’t know that after a small patch before holiday event it has become impossible to join private games on Xbox and PlayStation via invitations and friend list. It’s been reported on forum etc by many people and still no answer even. And here we are with a wishlist - new class, stackable stashtabs etc. This will be ingame shop with maybe some additional paid stash space if blizzard feels like it.

I've heard something similar. Thank you for the information.

From what I hear from the internets there is some real pushback for a certain runeword (
Mosaic ).

I have observed myself how some new(-er) runewords made obsolete some unique items (and most rares I find) . However , I don't mind about that, given the rarity of runes.

So I suspect that there might be an issue of power creep. Guess we're about to find out ( ? ).

This is why I express doubts about any meaningful new addition in the game from the current team(s). I like d2r MUCH MUCH MUCH more than d4. I almost regret passing it by 20+ years ago. Nobody is perfect, I guess.
7
I think nerfing Mosaic is quiet lame at that point. Mosaic sin is lots of fun and i don't see a way nerfing it AND keeping the fun alive. Best outcome contentwise would be for me:
  • buffed and maybe new Uniques
  • /p8 on bnet and terrorized as another difficulty
  • New RW enabling more weird, but powerful builds
  • Oh yes and fixing that bug with items poofing when you got to many

Post ur offer before adding me. No PM. Only add me if u offer bin/lf. No reply after 3 days=offer rejected
No socketing service. If u get item otherwise, retract ur pending offer. Edit ur post or post "retracted" to do so.

I get what you're saying. However, adding a "Trade All" or "Move All" dialog/button... Would make more sense. In all the years playing this game, I've never known anyone to want or to trade 200 of anything in one go. Imagine the inventory/newly purchased stash tab having 200 spaces? OMFG!?, Hoarders of Diablo!! Unite!! And Celebrate!!!

Thousands of PGems a week? Bruh! ***Imagines stash tabs with 1,000 spaces***

Trying to be realistic in what a "major patch" mean by Blizzard for D2R. Blizzard could implement an inventory system similar to D4 -- with a seperate tab for gems, runes, etc., perhaps with a loot filter -- because this is something they've been working on with D4. It would make sense for Blizzard to carry over inventory ideas to D2, a clear idea of what they wanted to do and a relative easy way to accomplish it (without too much time invested). Then they could easily add gem/rune stacking as well. I think if they were to do something this complicated -- that would qualify as "major content" for any game -- but especially D2.

However, if they only add 2 stash tabs. I don't think even Blizzard would qualify that as "major content". It would have to be stash tabs plus rune words, or something else substantial for gameplay to count as "major content".

The only other thing, would be to add an extra zone, quests, or paid expansion -- later in the year or next year. Obviously, this would be a shocker, and is very unlikely. I can see an easy way to implement major content and make everyone happy, would be to simply make it like LOD where you can opt out of the new content. That way it doesn't mess with the core game, for people who don't want any changes to D2R.

Regardless, it's nice to see Blizzard adding anything to D2R at this point. But, I would've preferred they not talk about content planned for D2R and just show us instead. Because D2R has been on life support with no new content or changes for a long time now. And it's really not nice to tease major content. When in reality its probably something decent (not major) or something people wouldn't consider major at all (e.g. 2 stash tabs, 2 rune words).

One of my biggest fears may answer the question that you are asking...? That their "Major Content" may be a segue into a front door for micro-transactions in D2R. People here in the forums continue to mention: Purchasing extra tabs in the stash. I'm okay with what is currently in the game. I'm definitely a No Sale. They aren't getting credit card information from me...

Ever!

I hope the new stashes (I think it's 999.9% sure there will be new stashes) are gonna be free. I don't want to have to buy "a new part" of a game I already bought. I've done enough with the Sims franchise with paid DLC.

As for an extension, as I read here and there, I start to be persuaded it's gonna be it. This and/or a new class.

And because they wrote :
An infamous villain whose shadow once scarred Sanctuary returns to spread their corruption once more.
Maybe, if it's D2R related (I don't really understand if it's the case or not), it could be the Butcher reappearance somehow ? Who else ?

That's very cool. Take your pick:

Kabraxis: Known as the "Angel of Death" or "The Great Beast" in the Sin War novels, he was a rogue demon who commanded his own army, distinct from the Burning Hells.
Lucion: The son of
Mephisto
and brother of
Lilith
, he acted as the primary antagonist of the Sin War books, leading the Temple of the Triune to manipulate humanity.
Malik: A prominent leader within the Temple of the Triune under Lucion during the Sin War.
Astrogha: One of the "Other" Evils mentioned in Lore, known as a demon plotter during the Sin Wars.
Assur: Another demon lord mentioned in the Sin War novels.
Xazax: A high-ranking demon agent featured in the Sin War novels.
Lachdanan (Corrupted): While he seeks
Redemption
, the formerly honorable Captain of King Leoric's guard is a boss in Diablo 1, but not a main villain in the later numbered games.
Skarac: A lesser-known demon mentioned in early Lore

My choice? Lucion: The son of
Mephisto
and brother of
Lilith
, Leader of the Temple of the Triune.

Thanks for sharing :) I don't know much about the Lore of Diablo (I only play D2R, played LoD a long time ago and watched my brother played D1 a very long time ago). Been in D2R for 2 years and didn't went much into the story behind the cinematics
But if there is more Lore added to the game, I'm not against it at all. It could be cool if it's done properly.

Edit : Lucion would make sense. I mean, Mephi and
Lilith
are already in D2R, it would be logical to have another family member to deal with. An outsider would be strange and maybe awkward. I can't wait to know what it is nonetheless ^^

That's cool that you saw Diablo 1. Diablo 1, Now that was a game: Scary, tough, and unpredicable. The Butcher: named by you... Whew! I still have chills. "Ahh... Fresh meat!" Corrupted Lachdanan was mean in Diablo 1. Again, gives me chills just thinking about it.

I feel like installing it, right now...
