I was about to respond with the usual "mf doesn't have BPs, just diminishing returns" but the link is actually quite interesting.
The main Insight for practical use: At normal mf levels (around 300-400), you get 1mf unique for every 5 mf points. So something like 25 mf extra on gloves are worth it, no need to check any break points.
I'm also not convinced that the rounding to integer values is done in the drop calculations. Did anyone confirm this? The formula is (Magic Find * 250) / (Magic Find + 250), it doesn't say anything about rounding. And why should it?! All BPs in D2 are due to frames and how rendering worked 20 years ago. Float/double calculation wasn't an issue 20 years ago, so why assume any rounding was done in drop calculation?
Side note: I'm also one of the few that disagrees with the "mf>300-400 doesn't provide any value" since higher mf still changes the ratio of magic, rare, and uniques and magic items can be quite valuable if you know what you are looking for. As long as your kill speed doesn't suffer, more MF is better.
