Clicking on my account in the top right --> Messages --> New message --> typing name of recipient in the "Add a recipient"-box --> receiving name suggestions --> clicking on one --> it is appearing in the box now --> clicking on "Add"-button --> site seems to reload, name disappears, recipient is not added, thus I can't send a message
Anything else to add: I hope this is a bug and not me misunderstanding the messaging-system

For me it works fine. Have you tried different persons (maybe that person has disabled private messages) or going to a profile and click on the green message button there?

or going to a profile and click on the green message button there --> that button works. When I press it, the person is already selected when the message-editor appears
Btw did you disable messages? Because I dont see the green button in your profile
