I was seeing random d2 video about old patches

and in the middle, he talked about

and how it greatly enhances your MF temporary

Yes, it is true. MrLlamaSC is probably one of the most trustworthy sources of anything D2R related. His video about it made big rounds when it came out (over 1½ years ago). But I guess not everyone heard about it back then. Never tried to pull it off myself.

This week somebody enter on my game and typed "gloam ritual" (or something like that...)

I didn't understand what he meant with that at that time... (saw the video a couple days after...)
But he was probably trying to do the ritual (or complete it and warnned me...)

If it happens again i will join him

It looks like a lot of pain to set up, then again once you farm entire game with that magic find, it might be worth.

Important call out on this. This has been around well before Mr. Llama's video. This was first discovered by the PhrozenKeep crew and was posted publicly on their forums. It just so happened that it flew under the radar.

Mr. Llama has a consistent and major tendency to take old nuggets and making them seem like his, or 'new' discoveries without paying proper transparent credit or homage to the original discovery or the folks that spoon feed the information!

Yes, I'm aware it has been around since LoD, and has been known in modding communities but somehow stayed out of public knowledge for so many years. I guess to took a big D2R content creator making a video on it before the word finally got out.

Yup, and this is why I find it vital to provide proper disclosure and credits. Something I do a lot of in my content. The former is known to ignore and avoid just that...

Did anyone already do the ritual?

I have done a Ritual run with my hork barb. I had to kill my merc first a bit of pain, but it was not that difficult. I found 4 burning souls who were willing to do the ritual in world Stone keep. I only did the Ritual once as he runs with 500+MF and 400+ on swap to hork with isted suicide branches. So with the ritual guess he would have around 800-900MF. I noticed I found lots more blues and I found a good roll on a Maras 29 all res.

As you did only once, and you said that it was not difficult,
I imagine that you think that the time necessary do the ritual do not compensate the mf bonus

Yeah it was cool to do but it does take about 5-10 min to set up I would say. I ran all the level 85 areas for that run and thought it did not make that big of a difference but I did find a Maras so I was like that's a rare find so I might do it again some time.

I did it just now, from first attempt.
Let's see whats happening now. The magic find didn't modified on my stats but MrLlamaSC said it was on server side and not showing.
I'll go farming the game and see what I can get. I have already ~460 MF on my Sin.

I ran almost entire game and I found a lot of uniques. Among them were

The Reaper's Toll,

Gimmershred,

Thundergod's Vigor,

Buriza-Do Kyanon and many more.
Maybe was the "natural" 460 MF that played a big role on that.
Perhaps I'll try another ritual with close to zero MF to see then.

The links say that the mf bonus is 4k but do not appear on character sheet

If you have 100% mf:

"efective bonus"

Rare +85% -> +523% (~ x 3.37)
Set +83% -> +445% (~ x 2.98)
Unique +71% -> +235% (x 1.96)

If you have 200% mf:

"efective bonus"
Magic +200% -> +4200% (~ x14.33)
Rare +150% -> +525% (~ x 2.50)
Set +142% -> +446% (~ x 2.26)
Unique +111% -> +235% (x 1.59)

If you have 300% mf:

"efective bonus"
Magic +300% -> +4300% (~ x11)
Rare +200% -> +526% (~ x 2.09)
Set +187% -> +447% (~ x 1.91)
Unique +136% -> +236% (x 1.42)

If you have 400% mf:

"efective bonus"
Magic +400% -> +4400% (~ x9)
