Hello forum,
a tough day in Secret Cow Level in NM mode some time ago. Had The Cow King finished by merc, stood nicely aside with Gull Rhyme.
The sucker dropped me 2 (two!) Cathan's Mesh.

Today after killing hell Baal, ethereal Ribcracker 206% Ed...
This is my fourth character to clear the game. My first was a Fury druid... I've been looking for Ribcracker since normal D

I think you killed Baal's twin brother - ball, which is why his drop so low.
On PC I've got a bloody Ribcracker that's non Eth that deals more damage than this thing ever could. I mean if it was 250%+ I would slap a Zod in it. As it stands this thing is just kinda depressing.

Ethereal multiply the base weapon damage by 1.5 (it is not the same as a +50% ed affix...)
The worst ethereal Ribcracker will deal more damage than a perfect non-ethereal Ribcracker.
A +200% ed ethereal (which is the minimum) would be equivalent to a +350% ed non-ethereal (which it more than the maximum +300% ed...)
And a +300% ed ethereal (which is the maximum) would be equivalent to a +500% ed non-ethereal.

Non ethereal means you have a free socket (ias/ed jewel, ed/max dmg jewel, etc)fredkid wrote: 5 months ago

For ethereal, you have to Zod it.
pm me here (d2. Io) for trade

But unless you are not seeking "most overall damage" (for example, you want to reach some IAS breakpoint or want more Crushing Blow), the non-ethereal hardly will be better.
(a 200% ed ethereal is already equivalent to a 300% ed non-ethereal with a Ohm)

Does 11/10/5 Anni count? Waiting two hours for clone for this
Yeah, I had been thinking on that all this morning, sadly 206% is nowhere near enough to drop a Zod. And my druid is rocking a triple immortals with Immortal King's Stone Crusher anyway. Even a perfect Ribcracker would have been a step down at this point. (Probably).

(More like a side grade than a step down honestly)
Here's my fun addition!
After work today, I sat down for some great drops! First off, I've had a WTB for Arachnid Mesh sitting for a few days with no luck, so imagine my excitement when Diablo dropped me an ETHEREAL 111% ED!
Afterwards, to add insult to injury, D Clone invaded my Baal run to drop me a 10/10/7 Annihilus.
Words cannot describe how happy I am with the Lord of Terror for his generosity today.

I respect your choice, but AFAIK that is hardly true. Have you ever compared them, at least on paper? On maxroll for example?BoringTitle wrote: 5 months ago Yeah, I had been thinking on that all this morning, sadly 206% is nowhere near enough to drop a Zod. * I trade both ladder and non-ladder, please check before asking.
* All my trades are for runes, keys (especially KoT and KoH) and essences!
That druid steamrolls pretty much everything. Mind you if it were at or near the 300% if can potentially get it would be an easy decision to Zod.
As it stands, there just isn't a reason to do it.
With my bloody luck, two days after I drop a Zod and up it another will drop at 299%Ed 700ish damage...

gg you found it mate. That's another one off the list, now for the 10/10/5 anni (unless you already got that too).
