Description

So I recently found a
Windforce
, with the updates in patch 2.6 I was super excited to pair it with Hustle, Faith merc and the updated
Strafe
to really output ranged damage!

Then I tried it… and my
Hellfire Torch
triggered
Firestorm
- which if it happens every now and then isn’t too bad, but firing like a bazillion
Arrows
a second at cows… it can trigger 2 or 3 times per
Strafe
!

Build is basically unplayable

Frame rate goes to like 2 per second…I’m in a
Strafe
lock and my merc dies, or my valk dies, or I die.

Like wtf?

I remember this being an issue 20 years ago on my
Frenzy
barb… how could this not be fixed?!

Blizzard: the
Firestorm
effect on the torch isn’t cool anymore. Please either take it away so the game can actually function, or at least make the damage worthwhile! if it were like 60k fire damage per second, or enough to actually kill monsters then I’d suffer through the animation lag.

I just I’ll go back to caster builds (shame too,
Strafe
is fun now)

Am I right?

Obvious ideas:
- Get a better PC/GPU (if applicable)
- Update your drivers
- Play around with graphics settings a bit as certain combinations seem to have some undesired interactions/results on certain systems

Generally speaking, this isn't a guaranteed issue. I for one tend to keep my settings at or close to max across the board (see 'play around' above) and I don't see any such problems or slowdowns from torch triggers, Mosaic sins going nuts or any of that. The only thing that still has a noticeable slowing effect for me - which has been true since day 1 of LoD I guess - is the shenk Death animation. But everything else can be chain-triggered as much as you want and there's no difference whatsoever, despite my rig not having been upgraded in quite a while (at least 2-3 generations of GPUs I guess).

Switch
Yea I’m playing on Nintendo switch… so I’m stuck with what I got. I have the graphics performances already set to lowest… although I guess I could try original lod graphics, haha

Use a Skill Grand-Charm. I don't use Torch because of the
Firestorm
. Moreless I only like it on a
Fireball
Sorc or
Holy Fire
Paladin.
Else it is irritating at gaming.

Would be cool to have an Chaos Ice "Torch" or
Chain Lightning
"Torch". Would Like to see that Feature.
