Can be used to make Runewords:

Yes filling your inventory with them sadly has become the norm. (You get spared this if you play a pre-expansion character who also receive less resistance penalty)
It's usual to fill your inventory with them and just leave enough space to pick up one 2x4 item.
Some people don't even do that and completely fill the inventory with them and drop items they pick up into the cube.

Endgame hammerdin can run without any resistances from charms.
Heart of the Oak => 40 All Resistances
Paladin shield base => 45 All Resistances
Spirit shield => 35 Resist except for Fire.
That is already 120 Resist. You can stack for from
Helm
, amulet, 2 rings and
Belt
.

From NM to Hell, I usually replace Stealth by Smoke, that should be enough.

Nokozan Relic
or
The Rising Sun
to offset the lack of fire resist of Spirit.
Griswold's Valor
,
Thundergod's Vigor
so you will have cold and lightning absorb.
That should be OK despite you have low resist.

Relax and have fun!

Just re-read this thread. As I'm remembering before Enigma and HoTo,
Redemption
aura is your friend in early hell, it will keep you alive in P1 games.

Please post a trade offer before sending me a friend request.
I'm in the PST time zone, typically available anywhere from 7am to 10pm

Add me, I had a Hammerdin early on in the ladder, I rerolled him into a smiterdin. Now that I joined the horde of Mosaic Assassin's I dont even need a smiter. I will give you some of his gear, should make Hell difficulty easier.
