Was there a walk in Asia simultaneosly to the one in America?
Pretty sure there wasn't.

There was someone claiming it in this thread at the time but maybe that was just derived from the tracker having switched at the same time which was more likely just someone trolling, sadly.

Though there was an Asia walk earlier yesterday.

I was asking because I noticed that the tracker went to 5/6 for both at the same time, and then back to 1/6. I wasn't at home and couldn't check it in-game myself, though.

Yeah, someone was messing with the tracker at the time and kept setting all three to 5 even though only Americas was.

Alessandro_02 claimed the spawn at the bottom of page 9 here. The question being if he had reason to or just based that off the tracker as well.

I have a sneaking suspicion that closed walks will henceforth happen on Asia with less active/advanced playerbase and lag as deterrents to us freeloading pros.

Does asia even have a less active/large playerbase as compared to Europe for example? I wouldn't be surprised if they actually have more.

That having been said, I wouldn't read too much into it. Can't expect Asia to not do any walks of their own after all.
Plus if the organizers aren't from that region themselves then the same lag is a deterrent for them. Probably even more so as they need to farm quite possibly hundreds of games in a row before their blocking alts get disconnected.

Rotating on and off. Still at 2.

I made a fun little discovery:
That new "1 game permed limit" is actually region specific.

So if you make a private game on Europe, it gets permed instantly. You then quit the game.

Log in to Asia, make a private game there. You now have two permed games, one in Europe, one in Asia. The Asia one does not close out the Europe one (though it will close out other Asia ones still, naturally).

So long as you move back to Europe within the 5(I think?) minute window, your original Europe game is still there.

Thanks to that, you can actually rotate across all 3 regions with a private game in each (just rejoin it each time) to check the status in all 3 and not run the risk of losing out entirely because you miss the walk in another region when two move up at the same time again.

Not in general. I just noticed that save for South Korea, most Asian gamers prefer to follow the trends and play the crap out of what's popular at the moment. I'm mostly talking about China and Taiwan here, but I can't imagine that BroodWar or WC3 are still big in India or Japan either. Haven't heard a squeak about pros from those countries for an era.
