Grief 30/399 in PB - "need" in axe for my frenzy barb - aka 7 questions about Grief

Description

Hey guys,

I got super lucky for my first Grief in PB - 30/399. Today I did Breath of the Dying (351/14) for my
Frenzy
barb in
Eth
Berserker Axe
. When I played it. It was better than crapy
Lightsabre
I had. But then I noticed one MAJOR problem - Mastery. So for my
Frenzy
barb I wanna use Breath of the Dying paired with Grief. So this Grief has to be in
Axe
.

I use my Grief with smiter and Fury druid to run ubers. But I also wanna play
Frenzy
barb.

I am not rune rich person so I wanna have each RW once (and swapping it like madman between characters). But Grief is cheap.

Questions:
1) I heard that PB has already maximum attack speed so for PB doesnt matter if it has 30 or 40 IAS - is this true?
2)
Berserker Axe
is slower than PB so I guess there IAS on Grief matters a lot - is this true?
3) Should I trade (sell and buy) my Grief for similar Grief in
Berserker Axe
? - would there been some disadvantages? - keep in mind that this weapon is my uber hunter weapon so I dont wanna meke my runs significantly worse.
4) Should I sell my Grief and buy 2x low Grief one in PB and one in
Axe
?
5) sell my BotD and use my
Frenzy
barb with
Azurewrath
+ pb ? (my barb is lvl 80, so atm I cant use
Azurewrath
)
6) I also noticed some guys selling for few ists Grief in
Crystal Sword
- is there any major setback compare to PB? -20dmg on base weapon - seems irrelevant. 20durability - well that can be annying. What about attack speed - is it same?
7) is there any sword oriented RW similar to BotD in term of dmg and rune costs?

What do you think its best way to do?

I will try my best,
1) As far as I know this is true
2) I believe with the zerk you want 34 ias or better, not sure if this includes
Frenzy
barb break points
3) most people want pb because of repair costs associated with zerk, pb never needs to be repaired
4-5) I would trade the good Grief to get a high roll botd, then roll another Grief in
Axe
,
Lo
runes are far easier to come by than
Zod
and over time it will be easier to roll more griefs
6) I have no reason why someone would want this other than for pvp maybe, again pb is indestructible so it makes for a good choice as compared to other Grief bases
7) Death is an interesting compliment to botd, best in an
Eth
zerk just like botd but can be put in
Eth
swords as well

Willie did a good job answering your inquiries above - figured I could add some color commentary a well.

For
Frenzy
barbs running Berserker Axes - I am a big fan of the BoTD and Death combination.
Eth
Death Cleaver
is also a personal favorite in-addition to Doom for the
Holy Freeze
aura which enables you to run a Might A2 Merc (without worrying about an A1 Rogue Faith Merc).

I would never run Grief Zerk on a
Frenzy
barb given the repair costs which will drive you mad.

---

If you wanted to run your dual swords -
Azurewrath
as you called out can be effective in-addition to a Lawbringer Phase Blade.

I prefer to use phase blades or any rune word weapons with the “indestructible” mod for all of my melee characters. I really hate going to town to repair…

P.S.
Azurewrath
is quite an underrated weapon that doesn’t get enough credit in my opinion

Agreed. Situational AF but awesome at what it does.
