I swear sometimes I feel the game knows what you want and it works to deny you.

Like I used to leave

Tal and

Thul runes on the floor, but now I'm trying to craft a perfect Spirit, all runes will drop except

Tal and

Thul -_-

This is for sure. When I in a great need for potions for example always the other one drops.

Regarding fail-drops I had

Eth-

Ormus Robes, a pair of

Eth-

War Traveler and an

Eth-

Arachnid Mesh. Fun thing is that I only got each of those items just once and they all were

Eth *lol*.

Stuff like Staves or

Claws with GG Staff Mods but all +1
Also 15ED ED Bases with either useless Sockets or Non

Eth when its needed for Mercs etc..

Unfortunate Ring of Misfortune.
I believe I saw a calculation somewhere that said that, on average, you need to gamble away 4 billion gold to get a Fortuitous Ring of Fortune.
Too bad it's worse than a Nagel most of the time.
