Finally took on the ubers...

I finally took down the ubers using my overpowered but overly cautious Hammerdin (lvl 91, over 2.5kHP, 225 average resists, Enigma/Treachery, etc.). Got all the gear ready months ago so I could farm torches. Draculs/Gface/

Guardian Angel/Grief in stash ready for the swap.

Wasn't able to farm enough keys for a few months now and finally gave in and traded keys to get a set to meet the ubers.

Unfortunately I had also respecced my pally a few days ago to be mostly vitality/dex and did not have enough strength to wear a

Guardian Angel/Gface/Treachery.

Was able to collect the body parts without any issue other than Uber

Lilith taking out my merc a few times. It didn't help that I wasn't using Grief either but a CTA/Spirit to

Smite her and didn't bother to have

Fanaticism aura on.

Had to build a Treachery in a low str requirement armor before attempting

Tristram.

Again, I was smiting Uber Meph using a CTA and almost died as I didn't realize you couldn't TP out of

Tristram...
Luckily I was able to

Teleport out of there and regroup and swap to the Grief/

Fanaticism Aura.

Uber Diablo was stuck to

Uber Baal so I had to gulp a row of Full Rejuvs as I was again smiting Diablo using a CTA (for some reason when I switch to BO/BC it gets stuck).

Ran away after taking out Diablo and

Baal followed me to the portal.

Regrouped and went to

Frigid Highlands to cast Bo/BC and made sure I had

Fanaticism/Grief on as I re-entered the red portal to a waiting

Baal sitting at the portal. I was able to take out

Baal with no issue but there were still a buncha minions roaming around and I couldn't pickup the charm...

At the end I was able to claim my first torch.

I reckon ive done ubers 50-60 times now or more and still find myself leaving the wrong aura on or smitting with Spirit/ cta combo haha

Congratulations bro. I did my first ubers like two weeks ago and every portal closer to

Tristram was a panic attack. I slowly killed everything walking until I found

Lilith and

Izual.

Duriel had a great spawn, but F

Baal and Diablo. I had no mana leech at the time and was slowly whacking them with

Smite every 2-3 swings to come from Death to full hp for the longest 4 minutes of my life.

Thanks, half way through Diablo, my BO ran out and it just wouldn't switch back to the Grief after recasting BO.

Thanks. Yea it was like that when I was fighting Uber Meph.

Meph was easy, having both those guys on me draining all my mana so I couldn't

Smite, and didn't want to smash my pots and end up dying. I got Hella lucky on the not

Smite swings and he would connect. I barely scrapped by.

Now that I think about it you are right, I got mana drained when fighting Diablo/

Baal Used up rejuvs.

Yeah after that I dropped my

Dwarf Star and picked up a 6ml 6ll ring

Ubers is actually very forgiving as long as the essentials are there.
damage: cb, ias, ow/poison
sustain: lifetap, >1000 life, 250-300 all res, rejuvs

On my first uber run, I didn't have CTA, and assumed i'd die a few times.
My lv80ish smiter had 1200 life and 300-315 all res (

Salvation).

ubers died faster than I thought they would, and my hp barely dipped.
It wasn't until my 3rd ubers, that i felt real danger against

Lilith with amp casted on me.

Luckily, she is alot easier to drag than the trash mobs.

Uber Mephisto is always the hardest since his powerful lightening damage.

Most people say that but I happen to be dueling a FoH pally like 2 days before I took on my first ubers so I have Blackthorns face, Tod's, wisp ring, light

Sabre and something else with lightning absorb in my stash so I can no worries about him. Lol, if I had any more lightning absorb it probably would broke the game

Get your res to 300 (305 with exil/fort to hit that 80 mark) and

Mephisto is really just a pushover. Honestly not sure why folks bother adding absorb gear on top of that.
Then again, I do go against the masses here I guess in that I actually prefer reaching 305 with

Salvation over using my own

Conviction to cancel meph's. Sure, it takes a handful more skill points (that I don't need anywhere else anyways) but it has the side effect of not only keeping me capped but also my merc and whomever else may be there if I happen to be helping someone else with their ubers. And you actually get to just do everything with one set of gear, as opposed to wasting your time switching back and forth, waiting for a Treachery proc or whatever.

I did beat him without mercs. Basically if my character not capped with max lightening resistance the damage will be too much, even with max resistance it is still not a small chance to be killed if I do not start to

Smite quickly. And changing to

Conviction aura will cost me too much attack speed to regain health from

Mephisto so I never use this method. The other two barely cause any damages.
