Description

I have most of the items to make a
Frenzy
barb. I don’t have a Grief but if i traded just about all of my runes I could get one but that would leave me pretty barren in the Rune department. I could also use some secondary weapons to test if I like the build. Does Grief make a huge difference? I mainly play solo Battle.net. Can I still have fast clear speed if I run around 250-300mf?

Should I just go max damage and rune hunt and hork MF on switch?

Never played a Barb before. Thanks for any advise.

Can be used to make Runewords:

Hi Hagawa,

Check out this great thread that addresses
Frenzy
Barb weapons for end-game play:
forums/frenzy-barb-weapons-t550496.html

Regarding Magic Find I've watched streamers who claim that you will find more (high) runes with absolutely no MF. Some optimize gear to lower MF purposely. So if you are rune farming MF either does not matter or may possibly even be working against you.

This means you can just run with whatever MF you get with the best clearing speed gear you have available and not worry. Also 250-300 MF may likely be the best of both worlds for combination farming of items/runes.

Have fun!

Higher or lower MF has no effect on rune drops, with
The Countess
being the only exception due to how her and only her loottable works.

Apart from that, Grief is a very good weapon, but not mandatory for a
Frenzy
barb to start playing the build.

A viable MH would be
Doombringer
or
Lightsabre
. Lawbringer in a
Phase Blade
for the OH.

I was able to make a successful
Frenzy
barb with just double Oath ethereal Barlog
Blade
. Hits like a truck, and if you pair it with a Duress body armor, you will be able to clear
Travincal
in decent time.

Later on, you could update to Death, and ultimately, once you find
Lo
, a Grief. Dont forget a double leech ring.

Had a Dream about getting a
Lo
, and all I found today was a
Wisp Projector

OP
Thank y’all. I’m not solely looking for runes so I’d like to have a mix of clear effiency for rune drops and 250-300mf for drops and
Find Item

Death concerns me a little with the chance to shatter corpses

I have a
Lightsabre
and can make a Lawbringer pretty easily maybe that’s what I’ll start with.

OP
I also wish there was a good
Double Axe
weapon selection! I just like the look more… so tired of looking at phase blades!

Oath and Death maybe?
7
Oath Ethereal Bezerker
Axe
would hit very hard, but rolling 4 sockets on ethereal may bee too expensive

OP
Would I be handicapping myself if I went axes and not swords with Lawbringer ?
7
Unfortunately, Lawbringer will make the corpses rest in Peace, which means you won't be able to hork any monsters you kill.. a bit counter-productive here imo

OP
Ya I saw that… what is deterring me from Death as well but will I really be killing that many monsters with my offhand? If it’s that detrimental that’s a good argument for me to go axes anyway!
7
Off hand or not, it works like
Nature's Peace
or
Tyrael's Might
, it'll still make corpses disappear

the mod only work on those monsters you final hit by the Lawbringer sword. the rest you can hork. so if you got Oath or better you will still hork nearly all of the monsters.

I do a lot of
Frenzy
barb
Travincal
runs, with huge success. Owing the majority of my D2 Wealth to Zarbarian. Anyway, dual Grief is nice, see posts above. Just have to add, make sure you get rid of all cold damage to
Find Item
(hork) the bodies. 20% of cold damage deaths shatter, and that is no good. I
Cham
my arreat face to avoid ravenfrost.

OP
Well I'm doing this thing... Now I need an Ethereal
Colossus Blade
6os and a
Zod
so I can make BOTD. Anyone have those? If so hit me up!

Axe
and a etheral
Lacerator
is my go to
Frenzy
weapons.
Lacerator
for amp damge and you will wreck everything in your path, including phys immunes.

axes are def > than swords ;)

for horking i use 2 isted warcry swords on switch.

gives +6 to
Find Item
also and boosts your mf.

my favourite build.

OP
We’ll shit I’d much rather run axes. You have breathed new light into that option! Thanks… maybe I do that until I think about a Grief.

I was super smart last night and sold my
Lightsabre
to Larkzuk! Hah… I was buying different weapons to see what they looked like on my Barb and poof! Now that slimy bastard has it and didnt want to give it back. Maybe that was destiny and it’s time to replace it with a
Lacerator
and move to axes.

I guess I need 2
Zod
runes then? Daaaamn

Sounds like a solid build! I haven't tried axes (only PB's so far) but am tempted.. If I ever get
Eth
Lacerator
I will have to try converting! That amp damage sounds tasty..

One suggestion I've got for ya is to switch one of your 2 isted warcry swords to a HOTO for the 40% faster cast rate. Makes such a big difference for horking (as well as buffing)! I had been running the 2 isted warcry swords for a longgg time, but just recently swapped one of them for HOTO and runs feel SO much quicker. Lose a little MF, but gain like 2-3 times the horking speed.

When I'm not slaying demons, I'm usually out hiking mountains.
