Hello!
I last played this game over 20 years ago. Offline.
Im now lvl 73 sorc on nightmare in D2R.

Could you give me a recommendation on what items should be set aside for trading? (As I saw Perfect Gems & runes are the most wanted/common currency.)

The rune part I understand but I don't understand why there is so much demand for Perfect Gems?

Are all Perfect Gems valuable or are there more valuable and less valuable gems?

Gems are used in crafting via Horadric Cube.
Perfect Amethyst are the most valuable, 8-10 of those go for Ist
Perfect Ruby and Perfect Skull are next ones, around 20 of those go for Ist
Perfect Topaz, Perfect Emerald, Perfect Diamond and Perfect Sapphire, all are same value, 35-40 of those go for Ist
From lower runes Hel are the most expensive, 6-8 go for Ist depending on the buyer
Ral are roughly same value as Perfect Ruby and Perfect Skull
The rest are at 30-40 per Ist up until Shael
Dol price is dictated by Hel and are combined for that
Io, Lum, Ko, Fal are around 8-10 for Ist
Starting at Lem you are in the good currency, 0.2 Ist
Pul at 0.3 Ist, Um at 0.5 Ist, Mal around 0.8 Ist

I will be mostly offline for the next 2 months. I won't keep any trades active during this period. I will hold another giveaway on my return.

Before selling gems or runes I recommend you to look at the latest trending with the Price Check tool and also to spot the best offers for you watching the WTB section in Search Trades.

I'm not really into gem and low rune trading, but I can't seem to stop myself from saving the d**m things. I sometimes use them for cube crafting, but more often than not I end up having to dump them just to clear storage space, which I then use to store annis and torches until I'm forced to clear them.

That being said, if you're looking to build Wealth then gems and some select low runes such as Ral and Hel are a good start. Another really good start to build Wealth is Key farming, especially the Key of Hate with a good sorc build.
