Easter break boredom made me buy D1. I was looking forward to being thrown back to 1996 but I wouldn't mind some contemporary "quality of life".

I thought they could do a better job providing us with an easy way to play online, instead, I found myself dealing with port forwarding and all that Windows 95 compatibility hacking.

A real dive into the past.

Happy Easter!

I actually went on a bit of a retro spree after I finally got to the point where I went "ok, I can't start yet another BG3 playthrough, damnit! (for now... ^^)".

Ended up getting BG, BG2, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment, Diablo 1, ... all the good ol' boys really.
And yeah, as should have been expected...all of them run perfectly fine except for D1 which blizz f*cked up as they do with everything these days. Launch errors. Render errors. Asking for the cd-rom. All that nonsense. You can get it to run, sure but mweh...

Be that all is at may, I also quickly came to the conclusion that as glorious as those games were in the past..I honestly don't want to deal with those graphics and old-ass-tech limitations anymore. Ended up moving on to some other, newer games instead. MK1 was just a matter of time anyways. Did end up spending the past few days with hogwarts legacy though which...still has me torn between "this is actually crazy detailed and pretty cool" and "good god this is just sooo baaaaad" (like..the good parts are fun but the bad parts are really, REALLY bad..).
