So iv been trying to find a calculator to add all variables in terms of speed for merc weapons.
I would figure a lower damaging Poleaxe with higher speed would be better?
For instance these 2 where the unique has a 30% Increased Speed. How to figure out the best damage output?
I understand the unique can be upgraded, but wanted to know how speed affects the added damage output.

Can be used to make Runewords:

But lets say I add that in the link id get 16FPA on the slow one and id think 13FPA on the faster one if choosing Jab.
How do I use this to evaluate the damage?
FPA is frames per attack. The game engine runs on 25 frames per second, so you can convert FPA to attacks per second trivially -
16 FPA: 25/16 = 1,5625 attacks per second
13 FPA: 25/13 = 1,923 attacks per second
You can then simply multiply this by the average damage per hit to get the DPS.

My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.

I see great. Then id just use the damage number on the wep. Does this take into consideration then ethereal and even magical damage?ShadowHeart wrote: 3 months agoFPA is frames per attack. The game engine runs on 25 frames per second, so you can convert FPA to attacks per second trivially -

The damage number on the weapon (28-61 for your The Battlebranch) takes only the physical part of the weapon's damage into account, not added magic, poison or elemental damage. It does include the bonus from being ethereal.

Thanks guys, great answers.
So last question. When it says "30% increased attack speed". Does this mean 30 points? For instance the unique Partizan above should have base speed 10. Which for my barb is "slow". But since is has +30% it now says fast.
Does this mean its jumped 30 points from 10 to -20? Or is the % prosent not related to the numbers and only as added ias to the above calc?
And if so if I socket a Shael into it it wil be -40 speed, or just add a total 50% ias to the table calc?

looking at the calculator, the Partizan has 10 frames per attack (assuming Whirlwind), and 30 ias brings it down to 7 FPA. adding a Shael gives 50 ias, but the next breakpoint is 59 ias, so in this case the Shael no difference .
of course a different skill would have a different set of frame breakpoints....

Remember that there is a diminishing return in some sources of IAS...
