That's the one, 41 skills in bow tree and the rest in whatever you want. The build is finished by lvl 50 where you can put the 20 to Freezing Arrow though it's probably easier to lvl up as hybrid. (trade/ice-t1467501.html)
Matriarchal > Grand Matron thanks to reachable 75 IAS breakpoint.
Ice bow is amazing love that aura and Frost Nova! I use FA + straffle for leech and make those Nova procs. Also you get a ton of Gold. In my opinion there is a lot of advantages in this build. You can also have 200+ mf. Main worst point of ama being FCR
I really enjoy my Frozen Orb / Nova sorc with points into Vitality instead of Energy and Infinity on the merc. This combines my favorite offensive sorc skill with Nova for when Orb doesn't cut it. The build is fast and risky enough to make it fun.
Hybrid frostmaiden physical bowa is a close second followed by Whirlwind trapsin and my vanquisher.
never tried this till i read you post... ww speed increases when frenzied, but the lcs shows no damage increase
is this normal?
I don’t think the frenzied Whirlwind has any higher %damage added to it, it only increases the speed of ww movement/ias which would likely lower your dps assuming you are already maxed on ww attack speed. However, I’ve found situations in which the tactic increases dps.
Higher speed whirlwinds is practical and higher dps when fighting weaker enemies such as Fallen who often flee and are usually dead within a single 4 frame rate segment of a ww attack. In these circumstances it makes sense to cover wide Ground quickly verses focus damage in a smaller range. I also think it is a useful tactic when using Grim Ward which creates a similar situation as when fighting Fallen. Your damage goes wayyy up and enemies run from you. I’ve noticed, when feeling masochistic and running cows, significantly faster clear speeds using Grim Ward/frenzied ww. It’s still slow, but item find in cows can be highly profitable. Though just following around a javazon is much quicker.
In the post, I mostly mention the Frenzy ww bc that was part of the glee of reaching that point with a barb, the mobility and ferocity of it all is loads of fun.
In any case, I’d encourage any ww barb to put a point into Frenzy. It has great utility, particularly when you are decrepd or holy freezd. The eias from Frenzy is enough to get your dps up and grant more mobility aka More dam and survivability.
I wanted to start this topic, but I see there is already an old one.
I started to play few months ago and I choosed a zealot paladin as a reminder of playing diablo 2 approx 20 years ago.
I trained him until lvl 93. High resistances, huge amount of life and fast Zeal attack makes him an invincible killer, even though he is a bit slower than some other builds. Now I use him for fast Travincal runs and to kill dclone and Tristram ubers, but its quite all-purpose build.
Then I choosed a blizzard sorceress and trained her until lvl 91. Now I use her to farm essences / keys and to kill act bosses. With Teleport, she has quick acces to these areas. I enjoy to play this char/build, even though doing runs again and again starts to be boring for me quite soon.
Then I choosed a necro summoner. Tbh, this wasnt my cup of tea. I got to lvl 84 and now I almost dont play with him. I dont know if I choosed a wrong playstyle, but I dont enjoy the way of playing, that I´m just summoning skeletons/creatures and watching the screen how they are killing the monsters. Also, I find him quite slow. Clearing up the areas takes lots of time and killng bosses is incredibly slow.
The next one was Multiple Shot bowazon and I enjoy this build a lot. She can kill bunches of monsters in a second. Even those which I cant see on the screen yet. Her disadvantage is low resistance and only small amount of life, so she is very vulnerable. The ghosts (burning souls) from Worldstone keep are a nightmare for her. Also she is struggling with Baal a bit and no Teleport makes her rely on running only.
Now I started a barbarian. I am on very beginning yet. Still not sure if to choose WW barb or Frenzy barb. Any advices are welcome.

@nunuso I may consider the Multiple Shot bowazon for my next build. It's got that nostalgia hit and I want better options for farming The Secret Cow Level!
Summoner necro, but only with Enigma.
Foh paladin was hell a fun running Chaos Sanctuary, but unfortunately it has very limited farming area so it would have to be two skill system or only run the specific areas.
Trapsin assa is always fun, both fire and lightning.
Ive always wanted to try fire druid now that the fire skills can also deals physical or something so immunes wouldnt be as much of a problem.

I think its really good build for secret cow level, since they have no immunities and gather in bigger groups. Its really fast to cleanse the cow level with her.

I like Multiple Shot for Nihlathak. Just shot into his coop until leech animation stops. Pretty safe.

summoner CE nec is the king of p1 cows (hence one of my favorites). 2nd favorite goes to Nova, since it is one of the fastest TZ killers all around (and i don't like the pressure of having my charges up on Mosaic:P), my 1st lvl99 will be probably my javazon because it is powerful in a fun way.
Lately Lightning Sorc and Zealer/Smiter pally are my go to on Ladder. Had a Frenzy Barb I got up to lvl 94 on offline SP awhile back, would like to get one on ladder eventually as well if I can get him similarly geared. Definitely a noticeable difference in loot/drops with Frenzy/Zerker barb horking vs other classes, especially when you can get them geared to the Teeth with 250-300 MF.
Frenzy/Zerker barb I used to run on SP had Shako, Enigma, Grief+Last Wish, and dual HOTOs for teleporting and howling away trash mobs to snipe elites. Had 300 MF or close to if I remember right.

I mostly play my Blizzard Sorc. She is so well rounded and can farm every place in the game very efficiently - and she does not need gg items.
Second is my Zealer Pally. By now he surely has killed more DClones than any other bosses in the game in sum The only downside is that I have to change some gear between hunting DClones and normal farming. But even with Enigma and very fast movement speed he i still significantly slower than my Sorc.
The char for "chilling farming" is my Summoner Druid but I have not played him for some time. Should check if he still knows me...
I am still lvling a Sin to Mosaic (currently Traps). I hope to get her to respec in the near future (but my boys are currently "busy" with playing other games )
After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)

I did a Zealer years ago with a two-hand hammer. Frenzy barb with BOTD and Beast. And Fury Druid was my first successful hardcore character. Those were all fun zooming around the map. Old-school FO + Meteor Sorc was great. Now Lightning/CL sorc is more fun for me than Nova.
Right now I'm working a FOH pally that is not that great except for nuking Chaos Sanctuary, that is is cool watching the whole screen get wiped by a Holy BoltNova.
FF on Merc? That's new to me. You need it for fire res aura or what's the reason for it?
Indeed, for the massive fire res it gives. Lvl 8 Resist Fire gives 106 fire res and it also has a big range (so the merc basically never runs out of it). This way you can ignore fire resists on gear, which is very handy for a char like a java:).
