The OG Whirlwind Barb set, still holds up well - the weapon provides bonus damage to Demons and Undead while also giving all types of damage and a very high attack speed for a 2H, and with a full set you end up with a strong set of stats, resists, IAS, and +skills.

If you would like to run a Fury Druid on hell difficulty on a super tight budget then this set ticks all boxes even with just 5 set pieces. Just use Jalal's Mane instead of the IK Will and put a Bone Break in your inventory. Thanks to the set bonuses you'll get also elemental and poison damage on top, not to mention a hefty portion of AR.
Prior to Patch 2.4, Whirlwind only used the base speed of the weapon and any Increased Attack Speed that was found on the weapon itself. In the case of the an unsocketed Immortal King's Stone Crusher, this meant that WW would "swing" every 6 frames. With an additional +30% IAS on the Maul itself (through any combination of Shael runes and Jewels of Fervor), the maximum breakpoint of 4-frames-per-swing could be reached.
Following Patch 2.4, the IAS breakpoints for Whirlwind factor in off-weapon IAS, and the 4-frame breakpoint is no longer obtainable for two-handed weapons other than swords. While an unsocketed Immortal King's Stone Crusher equipped alongside the Immortal King's Forge will still reach the 6-frame breakpoint, an additional +60% Increased Attack Speed from other sources is needed to reach the 5-frame-per-attack breakpoint (the new maximum).
This change, combined with 2.4 subjecting Whirlwind to the attack speed penalties of Chill and Slow effects, has dramatically marred what was arguably the set's preeminent use-case. To add insult to injury, 2.4's change in Whirlwind's +% Damage from [-58+8*slvl]% Damage to [+25+5*slvl]% Damage actually decreases the damage dealt by a level 28+ Whirlwind, a very likely circumstance given the +7 to Combat Skills the full set provides.
