I'm not the best, but here's what I think:
* Spellcaster staves with +Ability modifiers
* Jewelry
* Potions (exploding potions, choking gas potions, rejuvenation potions)
* Throwing Weapons
* Magic & Rare small equipment (4 squares or less)
... And everything else is not worth the space it takes up.
What do you all think? Is there already a general rule made up for this?

At hell difficulty the optimum stash allocation for vendoring to gold would be wands and 1x2 orbs. Maybe also +skill amulets that won't trade. Anything else 1x1 worth 35k is better to trade than to vendor, I think.
All prices negotiable. BIN always wins. Americas (Pacific), but int'l trade times can be arranged.
Sometimes when I am really poor and need quick money, I pick up armors, they give me 35k almost every time.
Take this potion of LUCK
You play in a different language and want to trade an item with the name "Brennender Riesenzauber der Verstümmelung"?
Use the Baaltor tool to translate it into "Burning Grand Charm of Maiming"
to answer ur question rings and amulets with 35k value are best

If you are willing to pick up things for selling, I don't see why not go for druid pelts/barbarian helmets/assassin katars. They take up the same total inventory space of a 1x4 staff (1x3 for the Katar) and are just as valuable when staffmods are present.
Edit: some people may not know the Katar class weapon can only have staffmods when being of exceptional or better quality (excluding Quhab, Wrist Spike, or Fascia), so maybe this is why they don't pick them up. They sell for just 370 gold when they have none.
In my limited experience, Katar weapons are usually worth the least for the amount of space they take up (I had a rare Cestus sell for only 270 on normal), but knowing that they can have staffmods will definitely help.
I asked this question because I haven't gotten far enough in the game that I can just go to Travincal and become the Count of Monte Cristo. Thanks for your inputs, it helps a lot

Just play the game as normal.
Save your stash for useful items not for trash items just to resell it for gold later.
I have enough gold on both ladder and non-ladder (gold find barb on NL) if you need gold.
