Especially with respecs, I’m starting to feel like leveling is the true endgame. At high level, it starts to feel like Hardcore because each Death is such a massive setback. You have to tone down the aggression and have a balanced play style, or will plateau in mid 90s with deaths.

I also think the new meta will reward high level, for example for a MA assassin, you need a lot of points in MA skills and in Shadow skills, and should still get DS as well. At the end of the day you can never have enough Venom level, or Claw Block level, and you’re going to feel noticeably stronger at 96 than at say, 90. Especially with chance to hit/be hit vs bosses.

Some of the new level 85 areas In 2.4 are near waypoints, making the runs quite fast and making
Teleport
more optional.

I do wish we had some more high level mini bosses like
Nihlathak
for the 94+ grind.

Actually when I'ts straight xp farming time, I just make the tankiest build I possibly can and play very offensive, Lastly, I did with very promising light sorc. Just speed speed speed. But instead of having 117 FCR and all + skills in the world I was running 78% FCR, This allowed me to have massive 79% Damage reduction and a huge resists stack of 230% for each element except for poison. The thing is no matter how fast your
Teleport
is once in a while you will tp in to some might +
Fanaticism
pack and they will score a hit or even a couple of hits + they will throw a curse on you. So I'd rather tank them instead of having huge dmg and FCR and basically be a glass cannon. Then another thing is disconnects and power outages, tanky build can survive this but sometimes game might hold me for idk 30 sec then no matter what - dead char so my conclusion was this

I think the endgame is exploiting every build that tickles your fancy.

I don't feel like grinding past level 91 is appealing.

At least with farming, I'm finding items that could serve some use.

Leveling couldn't be more boring to me. I only level so that I can farm better.

This. The endgame is using the Wealth you've accumulated with cheap OP stuff like Blizz Sorc and Hammerdin to gear and play underpowered builds and simply experiment.

Fair enough, but a decent amount of end-game gear has some MF. Any physical dmg char wants War Travs anyway. And when you’re leveling you’re playing exclusively level 85 areas, boss kills etc so stuff definitely does drop along the way!

I can’t stand endless
Baal
and Chaos runs though…I usually just do
Nihlathak
and all of WSK. Until 94, I did
Pindleskin
a ton in P8 games. When unpartied in P8 (at beginning of a
Baal
run), Pindle himself is worth about 20% of the entire run!

I’ll stop at 96 probably, which is when you don’t even get much from lvl 88 unique monsters (in lvl 85 areas).

What if we had a few lvl 89 areas added?? That would make 98 way more attainable without making the final push to 99 any easier.

The really Endgame is the grind for those crazy crafted or rare items

Stay a while and listen

Endgame is whatever you want it to be. For me it's getting as high level as possible on my
Frenzy
Horker, going for all (near) perfect items and becoming as strong as possible (with some MF gear when appropriate).

Just hit 94 and got my
Find Item
chance up to 55%! Double loot FTW.

When I'm not slaying demons, I'm usually out hiking mountains.

Endgame is what you make it. Leveling to 99, making alternate characters and builds, PvP , Getting best gear possible, holy grail collecting all items in the game, helping others with rushing.

Probably a bunch of things I missed, but much of it is based on the individual and what goals you have in mind / what you have fun doing the most.

I personally have my endgame set to: getting 99 on one character (eventually), collecting high runes and Wealth, creating new characters and gearing them up to have fun killing demons in different playstyles, helping others level or rush.

my endgame is getting 1 of every class to finish
Baal
and finishing their build.

once the build is ~complete I'm bored and need to start something new...I've even gone to finishing 2nd archetypes of classes now just to keep it fresh.

Since this is an "End game to me means..." thread now:

End game to me is finding and using all those items that I dreamed about as a kid but could never find/afford. I mean, I played with a
Windforce
, I completed
Tal
's full set, I am working on a tele sorc to farm keys for ubers. Kinda a sad Bucket List of a wasted life, but oh well.

I also concur that using the main character to farm gear for the others is part of the fun. I have my throwing barb "Chuckie" at level 1 waiting for 2.4 to drop as well as ensure I have good gear for him from Level 2 all the way till he gets the BiS stuff. It's going be an
Axe
throwing good time!

I'm in the pursuit of 99 with my hammerdin right now. I'm 98 as of a couple weeks ago, figure it takes 15,000 players 1 Chaos runs to get 99 from 98. I'm doing 150 a night, with 300 or so on each weekend day. I have tons of runes and drops at this point that I'm just seal popping and killing Diablo as fast as possible -- White mobs give ten or so xp and elites give 100-500. Diablo only gives 14,000 with a 10% anni.

Once I get 99, I'm going to respec and doing Zealer, or Dual Dream, or Auradin, but likely all three at different times to see which I like best.
