Description

The
Wizardspike is a great caster weapon that is a cheap alternative to Heart of the Oak.

Its high resistance bonus makes it particularly useful for counteracting the -100 penalty in hell difficulty, and 50% faster cast rate can make hitting that next breakpoint you are after a lot more obtainable.

Potential downsides to the
Wizardspike include a high dexterity requirement and no +skills, but if you are trying to get max block rate, then having a little dex will probably be in your build already.

Great weapon swap for
Teleport speed!

A cheap and reliable alternative to the usual selections for a Smiter tackling the Ubers:
  • Incredible resistance boost to make stacking effortless versus Uber Meph's aura
  • Fast base weapon speed (socket with
    Shael     if you need more IAS)
  • Indestructible is a critical mod for a base that has terrible durability
  • Extra mana is nice, but Baal and his minions will burn through it all the same
Sure, it doesn't have CB, but that's easily remedied by wearing
Guillaume's Face, which you should use anyway.

MF sorc's best friend. Could not recommend this enough.

Wizardspike is undervalued for non-casters who need to
Teleport much (and don't have much mana).
It is perfect off-hand in combination with Enigma.
For fast teleporting you need both, much mana and fast cast rate.
And this weapon is the best you can get for both.

If you never have mana problems, maybe Heart of the Oak is the better choice.
